Over 80% Of Network Advertisers Have Excluded Rush Limbaugh When Buying Airtime (VIDEO)

Boycott and protest groups continue celebrate as more bad news heaps on Limbaugh’s Hate Parade Show. It’s not looking good for the Rushbo.

Quick recap of he week:

Last Friday: Ding, Ding, Ding! The Wall Street closing bell rang in a huge loss for Rush Limbaugh’s parent company, Clear Channel – to tune of hundreds of millions. Clear Channel, is run by CEO Bob Pittman (formerly with MTV) and President John Sykes (formerly with VH1). Hard to believe these longtime media guys have sunk to carrying a radio host that calls women sluts and prostitutes. Hard to believe they support a man would mocks someone with a disability or publicly compares the looks of 13-year old girl –to a dog. Yet, they are in charge of Clear Channel, which carries The Rush Limbaugh Show on 600 radio stations across the country. Sadly for Clear Channel, 1st Quarter Earnings Report showed a $203 million revenue loss, compared to $143 million revenue loss last year. (Mind you, the boycotts started 1st Quarter last year) Ouch. Boycotters are not playing around. And today, Clear Channel called Limbaugh a driving force. To where?

“Now, this is Michael J. Fox. He’s got Parkinson’s disease. And in this commercial, he is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He is moving all around and shaking. And it’s purely an act.” ~Rush Limbaugh

Sunday Night & Monday: Rumors began flying that Rush Limbaugh was ‘mulling’ over leaving radio network, Cumulus – one day before the media giant was to release their earnings. Cumulus carries The Rush Limbaugh Show on 40 radio stations including New York’s WABC. Was Rush Limbaugh trying to save face ahead of the dismal news? Rush reportedly complained that Cumulus was blaming his show for Cumulus losses over the year. Proof is in the earnings, Rush.

Tuesday: Cumulus releases their earnings confirming more losses in the millions, as well, and CEO Lew Dickey, alluded the losses were due to advertisers leaving Rush Limbaugh’s show after boycotts, and his attack on then unknown law student, Sandra Fluke. Dickey simply said the “facts (advertising losses) are indisputable.”

Also on Tuesday: It was reiterated that Dial Global has also attributed millions in losses to Limbaugh. Many others in the industry report negative consequences resulting from Limbaugh’s recklessness.

Wednesday: Trade site Radio Ink quoted a “very high-ranking Cumulus official,” who said,

“Forty-eight of the top 50 network advertisers have ‘excluded Rush and Hannity’ orders. Every major national ad agency has the same dictate.”

Josh Blevins chimed in a tweet.

And the week’s not even over!

So where does that leave Limbaugh today? Not looking good as he continues his smut. He’s running scared and admits to feeling the Bain, I mean pain from the boycotts. ‘His party,’ the Republicans, are distancing themselves from him more and more. And Over 2,600 advertisers have left his show after being contacted by groups like Boycott Rush Limbaugh Sponsors (who picked up another 1,000 members over the weekend – now at 55,300+ members) The StopRush Project, and FlushRush who do a lot of the dirty work, listening and monitoring ads on Limbaugh’s show nationwide. They then report and document the ads to the StopRush.net Database where anyone can go in and find out who’s advertising on Rush’s show. You can also find contact info with links. Consumers take that information and post messages on sponsor Facebook pages. message sponsors via their Facebook and website contact forms, tweet sponsors, email, call and send letters to sponsors through the postal service.

These boycott and protest groups are also being supported by women’s rights organizations like, UniteWomen.org and NOW — and by large progressive sites like AddictingInfo.orgBeing Liberal, Daily Kos, Media Matters. It’s all working.

And of course there are the petitions. One petition called: Tell Clear Channel & Limbaugh Sponsors – We Will Not Buy Products That Support Misogyny, Racism and Hate Speech goes out to 40 Limbaugh sponsors at a time. It includes Limbaugh sponsors: 800Flowers, ProFlowers (remember them – or don’t remember them for Mother’s Day) and true blue Limbaugh sponsors: Lifelock, Income At Home, LegalZoom, Amberen, Lear Capitol, SweetJacks. These die-hards will most likely to go down with the ship.

The protestors are not going to give up. They’ve proven so. One anonymous spokesperson from the largest boycott groups said:

“As long as Rush Limbaugh remains on public radio, we will continue to boycott, petition and protest. The public is sick and tired of Limbaugh hate-filled show that airs three hours a day, five days a week. We encourage others to not spend their hard-earned money buying from companies that support Limbaugh’s hate, racism, sexism and anti-gay bigotry. And we will continue to expose the people, companies, and stations that do support him. You could say we’re here for the duration. And we’re growing in numbers everyday. It no longer about whether or not Limbaugh will leave public radio. It’s now about when. And the day can’t come too soon for Americans concerned with the hate that is currently promoted on AM public radio.”

Here is the a video, of Rush Limbaugh mocking and accusing Michael J. Fox of faking his Parkinson Disease:
