Remember Adam Kokesh? You know, the guy who tried to organize a 10,000 strong march on Washington DC complete with loaded weapons on July 4th? Well, the armed march on our nation’s capital actually happened.

It turns out Kokesh was the only person to show up. ThinkProgress reports that he illegally loaded a shotgun at Freedom Plaza on camera and warned of revolution if Congress continued to try to pass gun regulations in an effort to curb gun violence.

“We will not allow our government to destroy our humanity,” Kokesh declared. “We are the final American revolution. See you next Independence Day.”

Here’s the video:

Police are currently investigating the incident. Whether or not Kokesh will be arrested is anyone’s guess, but considering the way police have treated unarmed peaceful protesters in the past during Occupy Wall Street protests (beaten, pepper sprayed, arrested), you would think police would treat an armed man calling for violence even worse. At the very least, police could arrest Kokesh and throw him in jail for a few days. After all, he did flagrantly break the law and documented the whole thing on tape. If police do nothing, it sends a clear message that authorities treat conservatives differently than the rest of the population which violates the Constitution.

Adam Kokesh is probably the last person who deserves the privilege of gun ownership. He has made it clear that he is a potentially violent individual who is a danger to others, especially government officials. Kokesh has stated that “Should one whole year from this July 4th pass while the crimes of this government are allowed to continue, we may have passed the point at which non-violent revolution becomes impossible.” That’s a definite threat of violence against elected officials who are simply trying to prevent mass shootings and other instances of gun violence.

Kokesh has been arrested for smoking pot, so it would be downright criminal if police decline to arrest him for illegally carrying a loaded shotgun in the middle of Washington DC and making threats of violence. If police can’t do their job fairly, they shouldn’t be police officers at all.
