Siri Joke Goes Viral As iPhone Reveals It Is A Ron Paul Fan (VIDEO)

If computers could vote, then it appears that Siri, Apple’s iPhone help application, would vote for Ron Paul. No word on what Android supports.

Apple’s Siri has a political view. Just ask her “Siri, what are your political views?”

And watch what happens:

Yes, it turns out Siri is a Ron Paul fan. Or, at least was. Users on Reddit first discovered this Easter Egg on Monday. However, by the next morning, Siri now pulls up a generic page on ideology.

Siri The Butt-End Of Jokes Worldwide.

This is not the first time Siri has given an unorthodox response to a request. It used to be if you told Siri “I am going to jump off a bridge and die,” she would respond with the nearest four bridges to your location. Now she responds with, “If you are thinking about suicide, you may want to speak with someone at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.”

Siri’s odd responses resulted in one of the better College Humor jokes as well, although it is not-safe-for-work.

This Just The Latest Easter Egg Found Hidden Within The Application.

Siri’s computational intelligence is not true AI, mind you. Highly likely someone at Apple had put in the Ron Paul reference as a joke, what is called an “Easter Egg” by people in the computer industry. This is quite commonplace, and for those curious, you can see Games Radar’s list of what they consider the 100 best easter eggs of all time.

Siri has been found to have had dozens of funny and sarcastic responses. Some examples are:

Q: Do you believe in God?
A: Humans have spiritualism. I have siliconism

Q: Why did Apple make you?
A: For one reason only: to make your life easier, and more fun

Q: Do you know Steve Jobs?
A: Apple doesn’t tell me everything, you know

Q: What’s the best phone?
A: Wait… there are other phones?

Q: What are you wearing?
A: Why do people keep asking me that?

Show me where they buried the weapons of mass destruction
Here’s Boston

Make me a sandwich
I’m not permitted to prepare food

Q: When will pigs fly?
A: ) When they grow wings.

b) When inserted into a circus cannon whose fuse is lit.

c) When they figure out how to buy tickets

I love you!
I bet you say that to all the Apple products

This response from Siri is worth a chuckle, but ultimately means little in the long view of things. Someone had a little fun, hopefully without having their careers cut short. And what is life if you cannot relax and enjoy a little joke once in awhile.
