Sarah Palin Defends Anti-Gay Bigot’s Freedom Of Speech Against ‘Intolerant’ Liberal ‘Haters’

Sarah Palin takes hypocrisy to a whole new level when she defends the ‘Duck Dynasty’ star’s anti-gay comments, but not Martin Bashir’s anti-Palin comments. Photo of Sarah Palin on the ‘Duck Dynasty’ set from Palin’s Facebook page.

It seems as if stories of right-wing hypocrisy are becoming more and more frequent, but in a blatantly inept move that’s even making Piers Morgan’s head explode, Sarah Palin took this hypocrisy to a whole new level.

By now most people have heard of Phil Robertson being suspended indefinitely from A&E’s show Duck Dynasty, but as has become obvious from several Tweets and statements in the universe of Facebook, some people don’t realize the extent of what he said. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Robertson is quoted as saying:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

Believe it or not, the Duck Dynasty star’s anti-gay comments get even worse.

Okay, that was definitely a bit anti-gay, but that could just be the fact that he’s grossed out by gay sex. You just never know. Of course, we quickly found out otherwise when theĀ Duck Dynasty star continued:

“Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right […] Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

So you got it: Duck Dynasty‘s Robertson compared two people in a consensual and loving relationship to people who screw dogs, those who sell their bodies for money, drunks, and we’d keep going, but you can read the quote. Robertson was quickly suspended from the show, and in what’s par for the course now for Sarah Palin, she quickly took to Twitter to show her support for the bigoted reality star:

“Free speech is an endangered species. Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us.”

Sarah Palin supports the Robertson’s freedom of speech, but not former MSNBC host Martin Bashir’s.

So Palin comes out in support of freedom of speech, and that’s fine. Unfortunately for her and her fans, A&E can also express itself by suspending someone who doesn’t represent the network’s values. The best part of this whole situation, however, is the fact that Palin didn’t once open her mouth to defend MSNBC host Martin Bashir.

Sure, Bashir made some awfully mean comments targeting Palin, but in reality, they were comments focused on the fact that she, as an individual, made a stupid comment, and even thought to say “This isn’t racist” before comparing the national debt to slavery. Palin fans immediately called for Bashir’s resignation or termination, which they got, and Palin went on to say that Bashir’s comments were “par for the course” when it comes to liberals.

Of course, Palin had every right to be mad at what Bashir said, but when he was fired, where was all of her “freedom of speech” vigor? On top of that, Palin went on full out assault mode when Dave Letterman made a few off-color jokes about Palin’s daughter on his late-night show. No defending his freedom of speech there.

Of course, the big issue here is that Letterman and Bashir were attacking an individual. The Duck Dynasty star, however, went out on a limb and said that all homosexual individuals would burn in hell while equating them to some of the most vile individuals in the world. Of course, Palin’s fans could always be counted on to stay anti-gay as well. In fact, several called gay individuals “fags” on their Twitter accounts after the incident.

So we’ve come to the point where individuals like Sarah Palin and her often less-than-average intelligence followers will defend the free speech rights of an individual who has the same bigoted views that they do, but they’ll refuse to step up for a liberal directing an attack at a single individual. Oh, and you’re likely to see right-wing idiocy that says CNN and other liberal stations ignored Bashir’s comments while jumping on Robertson’s, but just make sure to show them this CNN article as soon as they start to prove that they have no clue what they’re talking about.

Let freedom ring baby.
