“Patriot” Rancher Cliven Bundy Says “Negroes” Were More Free During Slavery

"Patriot" Rancher Bundy Goes Full Racist; Says Blacks Were Better Off Enslaved

Right-Wing darling Cliven Bundy has now made statements that suggest that the US would be better if the ‘Negroes’ were still slaves.

It’s now been a couple of weeks since the whole fiasco with a Nevada farmer, Cliven Bundy, started to make national news thanks to continual coverage by the ever-so-reliable Fox News channel. The man who has now accumulated over $1 million worth of unpaid grazing fees due to his illegal use of federal land is close to becoming a household name, at least in homes with more than 20 guns and misunderstood yellow flags with snakes on them, thanks to the whole fiasco. Due to Bundy’s love for press and not-so-veiled racism, though, even the most staunch “patriot” supporting politicians are trying to distance themselves from the rancher.

The Cliven Bundy Standoff.

We won’t go too far into the standoff; you know the story by now. A Nevada rancher stopped paying mandatory grazing fees back in 1993 when he decided that he didn’t like the law anymore. Of course, you can’t simply stop following the laws of your country simply because you don’t like them. That’s okay, though, since Bundy has publicly stated that he doesn’t recognize the U.S. Government as even existing.  He says he only recognizes Nevada law.  Oh wait!  Here’s Nevada law:

“The Paramount Allegiance of every citizen is due to the Federal Government in the exercise of all its Constitutional powers as the same have been or may be defined by the Supreme Court of the United States…whensoever any portion of the States, or people thereof attempt to secede from the Federal Union, or forcibly resist the Execution of its laws, the Federal Government may, by warrant of the Constitution, employ armed force in compelling obedience to its Authority.”

That’s right:  Nevada law says you have to recognize the American government. Anyway, onto the real story at hand. We’re not saying that “patriot” groups are nothing more than thinly-veiled hate groups. We’re not saying they’re racist at all. It’s getting really coincidental, though, that it’s these “patriots” who are the ones constantly getting caught saying ignorant and racist things.

You never go full racist.  Bundy went full racist.

The New York Times reported that Bundy was having a heyday with his newly discovered fame. In fact, he said he’d have daily news conferences. Got to keep up appearances, you know? It’s what he said at one of these conferences, though, which only included a single photographer and reporter, that’s now got conservatives, at least the ones who have to worry about winning elections, backpedaling. While reminiscing about driving through a North Las Vegas public housing project, Bundy said:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro… in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids, and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch, they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.”

Whoa. Pretty harsh there. At least he didn’t go any further. Right? Come on now people. He’s a “patriot” rancher with a “militia” at his disposal. Of course he went further.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?  They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

You heard it here first people. African Americans were more free when they were forced to perform physical labor with no pay while under the watchful eye of plantation owners and slave drivers who could beat, rape, and kill them without any real repercussions. Ah, the taste of freedom in the morning. The ones on the Underground Railroad were likely hoping that Canada would be a bit more repressive, you know?

“Patriot” Politicians Backing Down.

Potential presidential nominee Rand Paul previously said that he supports Bundy’s cause. Funnily enough, he simply cannot be reached for comment after having been informed of the criminal rancher’s statements. Dean Heller, a senator from Bundy’s state, said that the men gathered at Bundy’s ranch, many with guns, some pointing them at federal agents, were “patriots.” Ignoring the fact that this imbecile called people pointing guns at federal agents “patriots”, one of his spokesmen has now said that Senator Heller

“completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

After the whole Bundy standoff, the attorney general of Texas, Greg Abbott, who also happens to be running for governor, stated that the Bureau of Land Management was threatening to seize land in Texas. To any logical person, it was an obvious attempt to link his cause to that of Bundy’s. Of course, since Bundy’s incredibly racist statements have come out, Abbott has said that his dispute isn’t related to Bundy’s in the least.

Here’s the point people. Bundy can’t refuse to recognize the authority of the Federal Government. Period. The law that these domestic terrorists are all fighting against was signed, as an executive order, by their god Ronald Reagan. This isn’t about “freedom.” If Bundy’s name was Muhammad and was illegally using federal land, do you really think these corn-fed radicals would take up arms to support him?

This is about nothing more than either not liking the fact that a Democrat, a black man, or both won the election… twice. My favorite part? Aside from his racist comments, Bundy also said, “They don’t have the guts enough to try to start that again for a few years.” That’s right fella. The federal government, which pretty much single-handedly ended World War II, the largest war in history, is scared of a few dozen idiots with guns.

I honestly don’t even know how to feel about the fact that I’m kind of wishing that there really were FEMA internment camps right about now. Just a little “FYI” for any “patriot” or “militiaman,” especially those from the Bundy ranch, who happen to be reading this:  If president Obama were the tyrant that you and Fox News continuously make him out to be, you and all of your friends who thought it’d be fun to point guns at federal agents to circumvent and overthrow the law of the United States of America… wouldn’t even be around to annoy us anymore.
