Glenn Beck admitted he was wrong about going to war with Iraq and that liberals were right for opposing the invasion, on his show talk radio show Tuesday.

“[Liberals] said we couldn’t force freedom on people,” Beck said. “Let me lead with my mistakes. You were right. Liberals, you were right, we shouldn’t have.”

He began his show speaking to the political divide in the United States urging people to come together on what he saw as common cause problems. He spoke on the VA healthcare system admitting it was broken before Obama took office. Saying it was one of Obama’s campaign promises to fix the system, the president has not yet. In a rare moment of clarity and honesty, Beck wants people to come together to fix the VA system the same way he wants people to come together to oppose further involvement in Iraq.

“Not one more life. Not one more life. Not one more dollar, not one more airplane, not one more bullet, not one more Marine, not one more arm or leg or eye,” Beck said.  “Not one more. This must end now. Now can’t we come together on that?”

“In spite of the things I felt at the time when we went into war, liberals said, ‘We shouldn’t get involved, we shouldn’t get mired in another foreign mess, we shouldn’t nation-build and there was no indication the people of Iraq had the will to be free,’” Beck said. “I thought that was insulting at the time. Everybody wants to be free.”

“You cannot force democracy on the Iraqis or anybody else, it doesn’t work.”
