Another St. Louis County police officer is under fire over a racist photo and offensive remarks he posted to twitter. In one post officer Mike Weston, who used the twitter address @officeranon2  threatened to punch the Attorney General of the United States.

Weston was called out by media representatives, after lying about the reason cops used tear gas on people who were in their own backyards. Weston attempted to say that the cops had to use tear gas, as there were ‘shots fired’ in that backyard.

Weston was asked about the incident:

Here’s his original reply.

Unfortunately for Weston, a reporter from Daily Riverfront Times (RFT) was present at the time the incident took place. They also recorded the entire scene on video, which you can watch here.

From RFT:

“Daily RFT was in the back yard that was tear-gassed and caught the incident on video. No shots were ever fired anybody in the back yard, and each person had their hands up in protest.”

Reporters contacted the police department to ask why the police were spreading false information and to make them aware that a video exists which shows there were no shots fired. Wetson recanted his story.

“I wasn’t spreading misinformation. There were shots being fired some yards, maybe not this particular one.”

Police later said that the tear gas was thrown because the people in those backyards “looked like they were up to no good.” Later still, they said they threw tear gas because “they weren’t comfortable with people standing in their backyards that night.

Weston deleted his twitter account shortly after he spoke to RFT. Again, unfortunately for him, it was too late to keep the press from getting these screen shots.

Here’s a post from Weston explaining how reverse racism and the war on whites is a real thing.

Black cops pointing guns at unarmed white people must be a HUGE problem in a city that has a population which is 70 percent black, and a police force that has just 3 black officers to 49 white cops. Yeah, this explains everything.

Hug a thug?

When you’re throwing tear gas at people standing in the own backyards, because you simply “weren’t comfortable” with people being in their backyards day, you almost have to be mentally deranged to not understand that YOU’RE THE THUG.

Weston has not been suspended yet. Given the false information, threats against the AG and  the inflammatory nature of posts he’s made on twitter (see others here) there’s no doubt he should be.

Thus far at least four officers working the protests in Ferguson have been suspended. One for pointing a gun in a reporters face, threatening to kill him. One for posting racist comments on facebook, in which he referred to protesters as “rabid dogs” who should have been put down the first night. A third was suspended after pointing a gun in the face of protesters, saying “I will kill you.” Most recently, officer Dan Page was suspended after CNN reporters exposed a video full of racist, homophobic and violent hate speech, which the officer had posted on youtube last year.

Beyond a doubt, police in Ferguson are stressed and tired. That is not an excuse for their conduct.

The cops in Ferguson are crumbling because their house of cards is falling down around them. These are men that are clearly used to having total control and no accountability. What do criminals do when their criminal enterprise is threatened by the outside world? They blame the victim. They lash out at the investigators. They try to discredit the witnesses. They tell lies and get caught in them, over and over. They resort to threats and intimidation. Then they resort to violence.

These criminal cops are pissed because their years of exploitation and abuse of power are over and they don’t want their happy little party to come to an end. They don’t want the Attorney General investigating their actions, of course they don’t. What meth lab owner wants the vice squad knocking at their door?
