Cops Looking For Gun-Waving Men Take Aim At Mother And Young Kids Instead (VIDEO)

Kametra Barbour, a woman in Texas, does not know why she and her young kids were pulled over in their red Nissan Maximum if police in the area were responding to a call regarding a tan Toyota with four black males. One of the males was reported to be waving a gun outside the window.

According to the police car’s dash cam, Barbour was pulled over and ordered to leave her children and exit the car with her hands behind her head. She asked what she’d done to get pulled over and the officer just vaguely replied, “I’ll tell you in a minute.”

When the cop began asking questions about her kids and their ages, Barbour started to worry and panic. She said:

“What is wrong? My kids! They’re six and eight and ten, nine. What are we doing? What is going on? Oh my God, you will terrify my children.”(source)

The officer responded:

“We got a complaint of a vehicle matching your description and your license plate, waving a gun out the window.”(source)

After some time, Barbour’s 6-year-old son got out of the car, his hands raised in the air. The officers discussed amongst themselves before concluding that the boy did in fact look too young to be one of the black males they were originally searching for.

Once the cops agreed that Barbour and her young children were not a threat, they put down their guns and tried to comfort the kids.

According to Forney Police Detective Michael Clay, the officers had every right to take extra precaution due to the nature of the 911 call.

Barbour and her children left the incident badly shaken up. Although she understands the officers’ concern in a situation involving firearms, she said officers should “make sure you have all the facts, because you can’t just say, ‘Okay, I’m sorry,’ and then I’m over it. I can’t. Every time I listen to and hear or think about it, it bothers you. I can’t just say, ‘I’m fine. It’s okay. It’s not a big deal.’ It is.” (source)
