Oklahoma Christian Student ‘Decapitates’ Friend Over Accusations Of Witchcraft

A 21-year-old man is in police custody after admitting to killing an acquaintance over “witchcraft.”

Police found Jacob Andrew Crockett stabbed to death and nearly decapitated at an apartment in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Police officials say they don’t believe that the attack was inspired by recent Islamic terrorist attacks, in fact quite the opposite. The alleged attacker, Isaiah Zoar Marin told police he had to kill the man because as a Christian with “strong Christian beliefs” it was his duty to stop anyone from practicing “magic.”

According to Oklahoma’s KFOR news:

Marin’s brother, Samuel Marin, told police he and Isaiah were playing a card game and the victim was in the room with them.

The report says Samuel stated Isaiah had been watching YouTube videos related to his Christian beliefs.

During the card game, the affidavit claims Isaiah picked up a large black sword and began swinging it.

Samuel stated he heard a noise “described as the sound of someone getting stabbed. He stated he looked up and saw Jacob stand up and blood gushing from his chest.”

Marin’s brother fled the house, and his brother followed him attempting to explain why he had killed Crockett. Samuel described his brother as a “religious zealot” and “heavy drug user” who had recently been watching YouTube videos about his Christian beliefs.

When police arrived on the scene, Marin told police:

“I murdered someone.”

Later, he began “rambling about sacrificing and magic.”

It’s unclear what Marin meant by the accusations that Crockett had been practicing magic, but his brother said that the two had had disagreements in the past.

Marin will have a long time to think about just what was going through his head when he decided to murder someone over witchcraft. He is currently in prison awaiting his December trial, having been denied bail.
