Pres. Obama Is Loved By Almost All, According To Soaring Approval Ratings From Across The Board

ABC News has delivered some encouraging insights to America’s position regarding President Obama’s approval rating. While the right would love to tell you America has lost confidence in the president with last year’s midterm elections, such a silly notion couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to ABC News, whose article was entitled “An improving economy gives Obama his game back”:

Americans approve of the president’s job performance by 50-44 percent in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, a remarkable 9-point gain in approval and a 10-point drop in disapproval just since December. It’s his best rating in a year and a half, and matches his previous best one-time advance, after U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden in spring 2011.

Further, while 56 percent in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, still say the country is headed seriously off on the wrong track, that’s down by 12 percentage points since late October to its lowest since fall 2012, just before Obama’s re-election.

Other good news includes the 41 percent who say the economy is in good shape, a 14 point change from just three months ago when only 27 percent said it was in good shape. Obama’s rating on how he’s handling the economy specifically is a 48-48 percent split, up 6 points in approval from late October.

But wait there’s more! Obama takes the lead on almost every issue compared to Republicans:

  • He has a 61-22 percent advantage over the Republicans when it comes to helping students afford college,
  • He has a 17-point lead over the Republicans in combating climate change and other energy issues.
  • Has an 8-point lead when it comes to helping the middle class
  • Has a 5-point lead when it comes to creating jobs
  • Has a 1-point lead when it comes to increasing home ownership

The only issue that Republicans lead President Obama on is encouraging economic development, with a 6-point lead. The poll also shows that 50% of Americans support the president’s plan to bypass Congress on immigration while 46% do not.

The ABC News poll also shows that across the board, everyone’s love for President Obama is rising across the board:

He’s up by 19 points among 18- to 29-year-olds, 13 points among nonwhites (including 22 points among Hispanics), 12 points among adults with less-than $50,000 incomes and 10 points among Democrats. But he’s also gained in less-hospitable groups – by 13 points among non-college educated white men, 11 points among men overall and 11 points among conservatives.

Even conservatives, an additional one-tenth of them, are warming up to the president.

Little fact for our conservative readers (if we have any): at this point in his presidency, Ronald Reagan’s approval rating was 50 percent, identical to President Obama’s.

The poll was conducted based on 1,003 person survey.
