Mike Huckabee Finally Distances Himself From The Duggars

It’s too little, too late, but Mike Huckabee appears to finally see the writing on the wall. The Duggars are poisonous hypocrites and it’s time to abandon ship.

Last month, Mike Huckabee was one of the first conservative “Christian” leaders to publicly defend Josh Duggar after revelations surfaced that he had molested his sisters while they slept when he was a teenager. And because the Duggars are hypocrites who feel that their strict religious law doesn’t apply to them, Jim Bob and Michelle covered up Josh’s crimes and helped him escape prosecution and punishment, instead allowing him to continue to live under the same roof with his victims.

“Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable,’” Huckabee wrote on Facebook.

“He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things.

No one needs to defend Josh’s actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his family’s authenticity and humility.”

But in the wake of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s failed Fox News interview, it looks like Huckabee has decided that the Duggars are too much of a liability, especially since he wants to be president.

On his very own Huckabee 2016 website, pictures of Jim Bob and Michelle have been removed from the “I Like Mike” endorsement section. Here’s a before and after.

Here’s the website prominently featuring the Duggars:

And here is the site now with a noticeable absence of the Duggars:

Additionally, Buzzfeed reports that when the Republican and former Fox host was asked whether the Duggars would be campaigning with him, Huckabee answered, “I don’t know, it will be up to them. Ask them I don’t know.”

Bet he wishes he had dumped them when he had the chance, but Huckabee didn’t, and now he is clearly trying to run away from them quietly in the hopes of salvaging his already doomed campaign. That’s what you get when you stand up for child molesters.
