Bristol Palin Whines Because Miley Cyrus Isn’t Tolerant Of Hateful Christians Like Her

Bristol Palin threw a temper tantrum on her blog on Thursday after Miley Cyrus called out intolerant conservative lawmakers.

Earlier this week, Paper Magazine published an interview with the former Disney star that focused on Cyrus’ views on sexuality and her Happy Hippie Foundation, which seeks to help homeless and LGBT youth.

While talking about her foundation, Cyrus called out conservatives and their hatred of the LGBT community and slammed them for trying to force their religious beliefs on everyone else.

From Paper Magazine:

Happy Hippie is designed as a corrective to what Cyrus understands as immoral politicking, the sort that pits outliers as pariahs and favors an archaic status quo. The foundation treats at-risk kids with art and animal therapies, two proven balms that have been instrumental in Cyrus’ own self-care. Although she was raised Christian, Cyrus maintains a particular contempt for fundamentalist lawmakers who rally against this sort of progressive, potentially life-saving change. “Those people [shouldn’t] get to make our laws,” she says. Those people — the ones who believe that, say, Noah’s Ark was a real seafaring vessel. “That’s fucking insane,” she says. “We’ve outgrown that fairy tale, like we’ve outgrown fucking Santa and the tooth fairy.”

Cyrus goes on to affectionately refer to her parents as “conservative-ass motherf*ckers.”

Of course, Bristol Palin whined about Cyrus’ remarks after reading a Fox News report about the interview and accused her of being a hypocrite because she supposedly isn’t being tolerant of Christians.

“Is it just me or does it seem more than a little fake that someone claiming to be accepting of everyone and everything would spew such judgment towards her own parents and their deeply held religious beliefs?” Palin wrote.

“She wants everyone else to let her be “free to be Miley,” but seems unwilling to offer the same respect to her parents and those who wish to live out their Christian faith.

Oh, Miley. Thanks for giving us the best example of what “tolerance” looks like in Hollywood: it looks a lot like contempt.”

The “Christians” that Cyrus referred to in her interview are conservative fundamentalists who have been trying to enshrine their anti-gay hate into law even as a majority of Americans support same-sex marriage. Apparently, Bristol Palin thinks people should tolerate hate, even if it is being forced down their throats. If conservative “Christians” like Palin want to hate, that’s fine, because the First Amendment protects such speech. But when Palin and her ilk try to force their bigoted beliefs on others, that’s what is truly intolerable, and that’s what Cyrus was talking about. For years, the Palins have shown intolerance toward President Obama, gay people, liberals, non-religious Americans, the poor, etc… Yet Bristol has the gall to claim that Cyrus is the one being intolerant.

Cyrus was also not disrespecting her parents. If Palin had read the actual article she would have read how Cyrus praised her parents. And despite Cyrus’ dad being a “conservative-ass motherf*cker,” Billy Ray Cyrus actually supports same-sex marriage and demonstrates true Christian love towards his daughter’s gay friends.

If you want to know what real hypocrisy looks like, look no further than Bristol Palin herself. Despite being against sex before marriage and abstinence-only education, Sarah Palin’s daughter got herself knocked-up by her boyfriend Levi Johnson in 2008. Then she became a paid supporter of abstinence-only.

And then last year, Bristol claimed to be a “struggling” single mom even though she lives in a $400,000 lakeside home in Alaska across from her parent’s house while making $100,000 by selling her story to In Touch Weekly and hundreds of thousands of dollars from the abstinence-only campaign.

Perhaps next time, Bristol Palin will look in the mirror next time she wants to accuse someone of being an intolerant hypocrite.
