If Obama Calls White Bigots Racists, They Might Shoot Up More Black Churches, Apparently (VIDEO)

A member of the Right’s stable of interchangeable Uncle Ruckuses dropped a bombshell on Newsmax TV viewers on Thursday. It was one that, while expected, manages to be just as disgusting as any other time the Right attempts to shift blame away from white racists, and onto someone else.

In this case, we learned that the massacre in a South Carolina church was not the fault of the shooter, a white supremacist who openly said his goal was to kill black people and start a race war, but that the true cause of the mass shooting was (gasp!) President Barack “Barry” Hussein Soetoro Hitler Bin Laden Obama.

Frequent Fox News guest Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson appeared on Steve Malzberg’s Newsmax TV program to warn that white supremacist terrorists like church shooter Dylann Roof might continue to attack the black community — if the President continues to point out that racism is a problem America still faces.

In 2013, the GOP proudly announced that racism was over in America. While this is absolutely not true, Peterson repeated that lie:

“[President Obama] implied that racism is still an issue in America today for black people from white folks, when it’s absolutely not true.

You have the Department of Justice and others calling it a hate crime even before they knew, before the dust settled, they called it a hate crime, which is encouraging or verifying for a lot of angry black people that racism is a problem.”

According to Peterson, white people are being unfairly labeled as racists and need to start speaking up instead of holding that anger in before the black community causes them to snap and massacre some black people. Peterson managed to cram nearly every single right-wing taking point about black people into just a few sentences, as he offered his advice:

“They need to speak out to the country, to black Americans and tell them, ‘I am not a racist, I am not your problem, you need to take care of your own life, you need to get married, raise your own children, get away from the government taking care of you, drop your anger so you can see that I am not your problem.’

White Americans have been made to feel for the last 50 years or so that they are to blame for the situation in the black family and in the black community when it has nothing to do with white racism but everything to do with the lack of moral character.”

“White people are feeling fear,” Peterson said. “If they should speak up, they’re called racists, and they are feeling guilt because they feel a sense of responsibility for what’s going on when they really have nothing to do with it.”

“They have all this anger that’s starting to build up inside of them, and I am very concerned,” the Reverend continued. “I’ve been concerned for a long time that if they don’t open up and express themselves and say, ‘No,’ when they’re called racists, we’re going to see more killing. I want to be wrong, but we are going to see – especially young white men and women – we’re going to see more of them carrying out acts like the one we just saw in South Carolina.”

Recently, Peterson appeared on Fox to push the Right’s claim that “Americans have overreacted” to the murder of Walter Scott at the hands of  white South Carolina police officer Michael Slager. Slager claimed that he feared for his life because Scott had taken his stun gun during a traffic stop, but video shows Slager firing his weapon at Scott eight times as he fled for his life. Scott appears to be more than 15 feet away from Slager when he finally falls from the final of the eight shots.

According to the coroner, Scott was struck five times — three times in the back, once in the buttocks, and once in the ear. At least one bullet entered his heart. Police claimed that they performed CPR on Scott — another lie, if one chooses to place the validity of video above the words of the cops who were desperately attempting to justify the shooting.

“We should wait for due process, because I don’t think Americans understand how angry and brainwashed these young black folks are,” Peterson said. He and Hannity surprisingly agreed that “It is against the law for any officer to shoot an unarmed black man or any man in the back,” and that the events leading up to the video were immaterial.

Peterson attempted to interrupt, but Terrell simply left the set, leaving Peterson free to claim that black “thugs” were “openly robbing” homes in the South Central Los Angeles community, but residents were too afraid to call police.

“It’s too bad Leo’s a little coward,” Peterson said, “but I want Leo to go into the inner cities with me with cameras, and let’s take pictures of (those) thugs.”

Shortly after Michael Brown was murdered by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, Peterson appeared on Malzberg’s program to claim that Brown was a “thug” because he ran away from a cop who was shooting at him.

“I’ve said from day one that Michael Brown is a thug,” Peterson said. “the fact that he was running from the cops, period, because good folks do not run from police officers, they follow their instructions.”

“I just think that it’s a shame,” he continued, “that in America today, that criminals are given the benefit of the doubt – especially black criminals because white criminals are not – but black criminals are given the benefit of the doubt and the police officers are the suspects. I don’t know what has happened to my country.”

After protests erupted in Baltimore following the murder of Freddie Gray at the hands of police, Peterson once again joined Malzberg to parrot the conservative theory that Obama was “pulling the strings” in Baltimore so he can seize control of America’s police forces.

“Barack Obama believes in the redistribution of wealth,” he said, “he believes in the redistribution of power, so if he can keep these blacks angry and under his control by stroking them, they’re going to bring the chaos. And once the chaos comes, then Barack Obama, as he said in his speech, he can federalize the police departments around the country so that he can redistribute the power and wealth. That’s what this is all about. He is pulling their strings by stroking their egos and making the feel good about being wrong for his own personal gain.”

After Dylann Roof was arrested for the most recent mass shooting, which left nine dead, he was locked up in a jail cell near Walter Scott’s killer. Both are being held at the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. Roof is in cell 1141B, and Slager is in 1140B. Both cells are located near one another in the same unit.
