Trump: Everyone Coming From Latin America Is A Rapist, Not Just Mexicans (VIDEO)

Since Donald Trump announced that he’s dipping his gold-covered foot into the presidential waters, one portion of his speech has been particularly controversial and it’s the one he is standing most firmly by.

During the speech, he said:

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Naturally, anyone with a brain was offended, but Trump doubled down, saying:

“Some are good and some are rapists and some are killers. We don’t even know what we’re getting,” Trump said when asked if he regretted his comments at his announcement event in New York last week.

Soon, he found himself in a fight with Univision, after the Spanish language cable network pulled the Miss USA pageant. Then, when asked about it on CNN, he went even further, saying that he wasn’t just talking about Mexican people – all people crossing our southern border are potential rapists.

After a week of negative press surrounding his comments about Mexicans who cross the border illegally being rapists and criminals, billionaire real estate magnate and genius of self-parody Donald Trump appeared on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday to clarify his remarks.

“I respect what they’re doing,” Trump said. “I think it’s great. I like Mexico. I love the Mexican people. I do business with the Mexican people, but you have people coming through the border who are from all over. And they’re bad. They’re really bad.

“I’ve spoken to border guards and I said, ‘How bad is it?’ And they said ‘Mr. Trump, you have no idea how bad.’ But you have people coming in and I’m not just saying Mexicans, I’m talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and they’re coming into this country.”

Trump, unfortunately, isn’t the only person trumpeting the tired old immigrants are rapists trope. If you try to research the topic, you’ll see a lot of scary anecdotes, but no real facts. Undocumented immigrants like to stay below the radar, which means staying outside of the notice of the law. The real statistics show that in areas with a lot of undocumented workers, crime goes down. As for rape, well, the vast majority of rapists know their victims. They aren’t the stranger rapes that Trump would imply.

There have been repercussions for Trump. NBC dumped him and his show The Apprentice. I guess he’ll have to find another fallback once he loses the election.
