That Time Donald Trump Made A Creepy Incest Joke About His Daughter

Donald Trump is a presidential candidate who leads the GOP field, and that means everything he has ever said and done is fair game, including this creepy joke about his daughter.

Nine years prior to saying awful things about Mexicans and offending the entire Latino community, Trump appeared as a guest on ABC’s The View and said something else offensive.

During a March 2006 appearance, Trump made an incest joke about his daughter Ivanka that made the audience laugh while the rest of the world cringed.

It all started when Trump was asked how he would react if then-24-year-old Ivanka, a former teen model, posed for Playboy. At first, Trump reacted reasonably and complimented his little girl for her beauty. But then he went a step too far.

“It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what’s inside the magazine. I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

In response, former View co-host Joy Behar exclaimed “Who are you, Woody Allen?” in reference to Allen’s relationship and subsequent marriage to his former flame Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Though Previn was never Allen’s stepdaughter since he and Farrow never married, the relationship has been portrayed as a stepfather and stepdaughter romantic relationship ever since, especially by conservatives who loathe the liberal actor and director.

According to USAToday, Trump’s incest joke forced NBC representative Jim Dowd to make a statement on the matter in an effort to humanize Trump and assure the public that he “was absolutely joking.”

“He was making fun of himself for his tendency to date younger women. It’s a sense of humor that people don’t see (from him) all the time.”

It’s a seriously classless sense of humor that really only brings one word to mind: Eew.

In a matter of seconds, Trump went from caring and attentive father to creepy old dude. If he said this today while running for president, he may not be leading the GOP candidates in the polls.

Do we really want to vote this schmuck into the White House?
