Democratic Presidential Candidate Sells Out And Trashes Liberals On Fox (VIDEO)

Jim Webb, when he was a Senator from Virginia, was controversial at best. He served just one term and while his voting record was mixed, in 2004, he penned an Op-Ed that bought into the “Swiftboating of John Kerry.”

In the past, he called liberals “cultural Marxists,”  he said that women were biologically unsuited to fight in wars and that women were “poisoning” male cadets simply by being there. He also defended the Confederacy.

Now, he’s running for president and he’s turning on his own party – and the venue? Fox News. In an interview on Sunday, he said that Democrats were being just as divisive as Donald Trump, only our divisiveness is toward southern white culture.

“This kind of divisive, inflammatory rhetoric by people who want to be commander-in-chief is not helpful, and we have seen from the liberal side as well this kind of rhetoric as it goes to Southern white cultures,” the former Virginia senator said, apparently referring to recent debates over the Confederate flag.

“We need to be inclusive and recognize that we have problems and that we can come together to solve them,” Webb said. “But don’t be throwing these bombs to our cultural groups.” […]

Webb also said that Democrats have moved “way far to the left.”

“I believe we can bring a different tone to the Democratic Party. You’re right. The party has moved way far to the left, and that’s not my Democratic Party, but in and of itself. We need to bring working people back into the formula. Next Saturday, in the far southwest of Virginia there’s going to be a medical clinic, a remote area medical clinic to take care of people who don’t have medical insurance. It’s out at the Wise County fairgrounds. I hope Fox will go down there and take a look at it. They’ll going to take care of at least 6,000… people with no medical care. They’re going to pull about 3,000 teeth. These are people who have been forgotten by both parties and, I think, they need a voice.”

Unfortunately, the party Webb is talking about is not the Democratic party. It might not have been the Democratic party during the Jim Crow era, but since then we’ve proudly been the party that is intolerant of racism. It’s not Democrats who are forgetting about the people without healthcare. It’s Republicans who are trying to strip down and overturn the Affordable Care Act, which is far from perfect, but it’s the best we have now.
