Donald Trump Defends Planned Parenthood, Drops Truth Bomb About Reagan

I have to say I’m shocked, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Donald Trump, while appearing on Sean Hannity, defended Planned Parenthood and dropped an epic truth bomb on fellow conservatives about their messiah Ronald Reagan.

Some of the topics in the interview included Trump’s bloated ego surrounding his rise in the polls, doubling down on his offensive comments about Mexicans and John McCain, and how he won the first GOP debate. Typical Trump, basically what anyone would expect of him.

He also said he “cherishes women” and would “do more for women” than Hillary Clinton ever will or has done. Once again, typical Donald Trump. He said the same thing about Hispanics after he accused them all of being rapists.

Then, Sean Hannity brought up Bill Clinton’s past indiscretions, asking Trump if it would be fair game to use that against Hillary in the general election, to which Trump responded that it would be.

Trump then dove into how all the other candidates cannot fix the nation’s woes (like the fact that we’re 19 trillion in debt), but he can because he’s worth $10 billion.

But what came as a shock was his defense of Planned Parenthood, which has become a political battering ram for Republicans in the last month. Trump went on the record saying, “they do good things that aren’t having to do with abortion.”

Although he stated on the program that he’s “totally against” abortion, he said:

“Let’s say there is two Planned Parenthoods in a way. You have it as an abortion clinic. Now that’s actually a fairly small part of what they do, but it’s a brutal part and I’m totally against it and I wouldn’t do that.”

“There are many ways to do that, because I’m totally against the abortion aspect, but I’ve had many women, I’ve had many Republican conservative women come up and say Planned Parenthood serves a good function other than the one aspect. We have to help women.”

Trump also criticized Jeb Bush for his “unbelievable” defunding comments, calling it his “47 percent moment,” a play on Mitt Romney’s infamous recording that many feel cost him the election.

What was also surprising was Trump’s comments on Ronald Reagan, comments that will make many conservatives heads explode:

“Ronald Reagan was a Democrat and he was sort of liberal. He was a Democrat with a liberal bent and he became a great conservative. He had something very special. If you think of it, he was a little bit less conservative than people think, but he had a great heart and I have a great heart.”

I’m surprised Sean Hannity didn’t melt in his chair right then and there.

Although Trump is turning the American electoral system into a giant joke, he is right in defending Planned Parenthood.
