Foo Fighters Hilariously Troll Hateful Westboro Baptist Church After Concert

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is easily one of the most hateful groups in the U.S. They’re well known for doing such disrespectful things as picketing soldiers’ funerals with signs that say, “God hates fags” and the like. They do this because, supposedly, this will stop America’s horrific moral decline. They protest other high-profile events, too, because it’s just so effective, and recently appeared at a Foo Fighters concert, according to Buzzfeed.

Last night, the Foo Fighters were at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, when WBC appeared in all their hateful glory, with all their hatefully glorious signs. They were just waiting for the Foo Fighters to emerge from their concert.

For anybody who doesn’t know, the Foo Fighters don’t “suffer fools gladly,” as Buzzfeed reporter David Mack puts it. They’re also no stranger to annoying WBC, according to Spin. They engaged in their own counter-protest, but they didn’t shout down WBC, as one might think. They didn’t stand across the street, or even nose to nose, with them, as others have done. Ohhhhhh no. That kind of thing is too pedestrian for a group like the Foo Fighters.

They decided the only appropriate response was a good, old-fashioned Rickroll. Yes, the Foo Fighters Rickrolled Westboro Baptist Church. As they started rolling down the street in their pickup truck, they blasted Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” from their speakers. All the while, they were holding signs up that said things like, “Keep it clean,” and “You got Rick Rolled (again).”

That, friends, is how you troll the Westboro Baptist Church while making your audience laugh at the same time. Watch the video below, and listen to bystanders cheer the Foo Fighters on:
