Priceless: Planned Parenthood Leader Embarrasses Republican On National TV For Using Misleading Abortion Chart (VIDEO)

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz thought he would be able to get away with using false information to attack Planned Parenthood. And then he got owned on national television.

During a GOP-led witch hunt against Planned Parenthood, committee chair Chaffetz attempted to interrogate Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards about why the federal government shouldn’t eliminate funding for the women’s health organization.

Not only did he repeatedly and rudely interrupt Richards whenever she tried to answer his questions, Chaffetz introduced a chart that he claimed came directly from Planned Parenthood corporate reports. The chart showed two lines intersecting claiming that an alleged increasing number of abortions performed outnumbers a supposed drop in cancer screenings.

Richards, who had never seen the chart before, immediately knew something smelled fishy. After her attorney chimed in, Richards busted Chaffetz for using a chart displaying false information designed by an anti-abortion group.

RICHARDS: “You created this slide. I have no idea what it is.”

CHAFFETZ: “Well, it is the reduction over the course of years — in pink, that’s the reduction in the breast exams — and the red is the increase in the abortions. That’s what’s going on in the organization.”

According to real Planned Parenthood corporate statistics, abortion services only represent three percent of the 10.5 million health services the organization provides each year. Cancer screenings represent nine percent, triple the number of abortion services. Clearly, Chaffetz is lying and Richards called him out for it.

RICHARDS: “I’m going to deny this slide that you just showed me that no one has ever provided us before. We’ve provided you all the information about everything — all the services that Planned Parenthood provides. And it doesn’t feel like we’re trying to get to the truth here. You just showed me this.”

CHAFFETZ: “I pulled those numbers directly out of your corporate reports.”

RICHARDS: “Excuse me. My lawyers have informed me that the source of this is Americans United for Life which is an anti-abortion group so I would check your source.”

Caught pulling numbers out of his ass, Chaffetz stuttered that his committee would investigate how an anti-abortion group could supply a conservative congressman with a misleading chart and then embarrassingly passed the baton to another lawmaker.

Here’s the video via YouTube.

The look on Chaffetz’s face is priceless as he realizes he just got caught lying during a House committee hearing while pushing misinformation provided to him by an anti-abortion group. Once again, a Republican gets caught playing dirty in an effort to destroy women’s healthcare.
