Hacker Group Anonymous Posts LONG List Of KKK Members (IMAGES)

Anonymous was a bit late to the game with releasing the group’s promised report identifying about 1,000 purported members of the Ku Klux Klan. While it is important to note that the names have not yet been verified, at least some of the people identified seem to check out. In a statement accompanying the release, the hacktivists said:

“We hope Operation KKK will, in part, spark a bit of constructive dialogue about race, racism, racial terror and freedom of expression, across group lines. Public discourse about these topics can be honest, messy, snarky, offensive, humbling, infuriating, productive, and serious all at once. The reality is that racism usually does NOT wear a hood but it does permeate our culture on every level.”

“In this dox list, you will find official members of various KKK groups throughout the United States as well as their closest associates (most are also in other extremist hate groups). You will see many names with ALIAS beside it. If indicated, these are CONFIRMED aliases. Other names on this list may be aliases, as well,” the group explained. “Some aliases we were unable to crack. The klan sometimes hides behind several online identities. Given name or alias, these are the real people underneath the hoods.”

Anonymous says that data was collected over a period of 11 months, and that “individuals on this list were often identified by human sources of information through both overt (interviewing expert sources) and covert (digital espionage / social engineering) methods” and that many members “told on themselves” during conversations with sock puppet accounts.

Anonymous stands by its work with the list, and removed some names for further verification to err on the side of caution. “We understand this initiative is extremely controversial and we know we will face much criticism for this operation and our work will be heavily scrutinized,” the hackers said. “We hope this body of work speaks for itself.”

One person on the list, Robert Kastanek, Ohio makes his affiliations very clear on his Facebook profile, proudly displaying the Klan emblem in his public photos:

There are also numerous photos portraying Krastanek standing in front of Confederate flags, swastikas — oh, and the one of him holding a copy of the Militant Knights of the Ku Klux Klan bylaws:

Craig Wyss, another individual on the list, proudly displays the KKKross of the “white Christian organization” inside his vehicle. His friends, of course, love it:

One white supremacist wants to sell her hate-shirts because her “walk with Christ is growing stronger” and she needs to “dress more feminine.” Christopher Scott, who uses a KKK logo as his profile photo on Facebook, says “id like that rock well shirt sister.”

2015-11-05_17-24-432015-11-05_17-25-34Numerous other names seem to check out but, of course, each should be independently verified. While the hacktivists feel that it is important that these individuals not hide behind their hoods, Anonymous urges people not to act out in any way against the Klansmen. Freedom of speech is simply that: freedom of speech. Harming others physically for their opinions does nothing to help anyone.

The document also lists numerous online gathering places for white supremacists and lists active Klan groups in America. “We consider this data dump as a form of resistance against the violence and intimidation tactics leveraged against the public by various members of Ku Klux Klan groups throughout history,” Anonymous says.

Not much is known about Garrison’s early years, or what inspired him to racial
violence. Some argue he was a product of his time and locale in an era of sudden
racial progress; others say he’s the bastard son of Hitler himself, reincarnated with a
vengeance. However he acquired his views, he’s been stirring shit up since at least
the nineties, when he joined the banner of former Klan Dragon Tom Metzger’s White
Aryan Resistance under the pseudonym A. Wyatt Mann, to publish racist and anti-
Semitic cartoons promoting white supremacy. There’s never been an official word
on this, but his immortal style is unmistakable:

Is the list 100 percent accurate? Anonymous says so. Feel free to look through it yourself, if you wish.
