Ben Carson Kills His Presidential Campaign In A Single Sentence (VIDEO)

Ben Carson just killed his presidential campaign in one sentence. Or, at least, he would have done if modern day Republicans hadn’t become fully paid up members of the Conservative Cult of Idiocy.

In perhaps one of the weirdest exchanges of any presidential campaign in history, Carson is now grandstanding over the theory that he once tried to knife his own brother.

JANSING: Is he the one you tried to knife?

CARSON: I’m not giving any information about who the person was that I tried to knife.

That is a sentence that should not be coming out of the mouth of any presidential candidate. But it did, and that should mean game over.

Retired neuroscientist and GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson claims to have committed several acts of serious violence in his past. These include battering his own mother with a hammer, hitting people in the head with rocks, and this attempted stabbing during a petty dispute over preferred radio stations. As my colleague Bob Cesca reported last week, Carson appeared to use his violent past as a defense in an interview with Chuck Todd on Meet The Press:

CHUCK TODD: Do you think that people mistake your soft-spokenness with a lack of energy?

DR. BEN CARSON: I think so. I have plenty of energy. But, you know, I am soft-spoken. I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasn’t always like that. There was a time when I was, you know, very volatile. But, you know, I changed.

CHUCK TODD: When was that?

DR. BEN CARSON: As a teenager. I would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone. And, you know, fortunately, you know, my life has been changed. And I’m a very different person now.

While Carson claims he turned to God for answers and his religious conversion accounts for his change in behavior, classmates say he cooked the whole story up to curry favor with the christian conservative movement.

Whichever scenario is true, Carson’s presidential run should be over.

Either he lied about the whole thing, or he holds within him a propensity for violence against women, family members, and anyone else who rattles his cage. Both realities rule him out as a man of requisite stature to hold the highest office in America. Unless of course, the Conservative Cult of Idiocy prevails.
