Huckabee: Pro-Lifers Are Victims Of Planned Parenthood Shooting Because This Makes Us Look Bad (VIDEO)

For reasons that remain unclear, CNN decided to devote their Sunday morning interview time not with the victims of the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood, nor the doctors and nurses whose lives have been repeatedly threatened by anti-abortion lunatics, but instead with Mike Huckabee.

Huckabee is arguably one of the most prominent promoters of violent lies about Planned Parenthood. Repeatedly, Huckabee knowingly lied about what was depicted in the fraudulent Planned Parenthood sting videos created by a pro-life activist group to slander the women’s health clinic. For months after those videos were debunked, Huckabee continued to say they showed that the employees of Planned Parenthood were “uncivilized” and were “selling off parts of a baby, as if we were trading parts for a Buick at an auto parts store.”

These sentiments were echoed, almost verbatim, by Robert Lewis Dear, Jr., the man responsible for murdering three people and wounding 9 others in the rampage at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood. According to investigators, Dear told them, “No more baby parts.”

But rather than look upon his own politically-motivated complicity in this anti-abortion violence, Huckabee decided that he was the real victim. So much for Blue Lives Matter. So much for All Lives Matter. When it came down to it, Huckabee had only one thought: This shooting was going to make the pro-life movement look really bad.

Speaking with host Brianna Keilar, Huckabee conceded that this was domestic terrorism — but not for the reasons one might think:

“Regardless of why he did it, what he did is domestic terrorism. And what he did is absolutely abominable, especially to those of us in the pro-life movement because there’s nothing about any of us that would condone or any way look the other way at something like this.

Instantly after saying he would never condone something like this, Mike Huckabee condoned the actions by suggesting that it would be understandably tempting to kill abortion doctors responsible for murdering “millions of babies.”

What the f*ck?

“There is no excuse for killing other people whether it’s happening inside the Planned Parenthood headquarters, inside their clinics where many millions of babies die or whether it’s people attacking Planned Parenthood. We ought to value life. Every life truly does have worth and value.

I don’t know of any pro-life leader — any — if you can tell me one, please correct me — but I don’t know of anybody who has suggested violence toward Planned Parenthood personnel or some act of violence towards their clinics. I’ve not heard that, not from one single pro-life person.”

Let’s correct him: LOTS of pro-life activists have expressed a disturbing desire to see those who work with women having abortions deserve to die. Fox News, Huckabee’s former network, used to refer to Dr. George Tiller as “Tiller the baby killer.” Huckabee’s friend Bill O’Reilly called Tiller a “Nazi“. A pro-lifer went on to shoot Tiller in the head as he was leaving church one morning.

Huckabee himself once proposed that one way to stop abortion was to send in federal troops to physically prevent women from entering abortion clinics. If the startling imagery of a young man in military fatigues and holding an assault rifle blocking the constitutionally-protected right to an abortion doesn’t suggest sinister violence just under the surface of Huckabee’s rhetoric, I don’t know what could.

In fact, the entire conservative movement is awash with people who couldn’t wait to praise the Planned Parenthood shooter as a hero in the cause of stopping women from being able to have abortions without the fear of being violently murdered at the hands of an extremist. On Twitter, the tense standoff with police hadn’t even ended before Dear was being lauded by the most toxic underbelly of the right.

So, it’s not secret why Huckabee would be so quick to suggest his own words had absolutely no part in this attack. They obviously do. It also explains why he is hastily booking himself on CNN to spin this attack as one against pro-lifers. It’s the only defense he has against the truth.
