Warren Buffet dismissed the typical Tea Party argument that low taxes stimulate investment and create jobs saying,’My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.’

The dictionary defines treason as, ‘disloyalty or treachery to one’s country or its government.’ And so with that in mind one has to ask, are the Republicans guilty of treason?

Abortion. It’s one of those wedge issues that causes some pretty heated debate. Few people have no opinion on this subject in fact. And it’s easy to understand why. We are talking about human life, the creation of human life, religious philosophies, religious dogma, complex moral considerations, social values and personal values.

Given the enormity of Republican patriotism, it is interesting that they are so hell-bent on winning the 2012 election, they will do anything it takes to bring this country to its knees in the hope that Americans will be too stupid and/or too ignorant, to understand who drove the economy off a cliff in the first place, and who is currently standing at the top of the cliff making sure we stay down.

The Republicans keep peddling the lie that Democrats spend too much, which is laughable when you consider how much the last Republican administration expanded government and spent money. They used to tell us their bad decisions were all okay because we were ‘at war.’ Now they tell us that their bad policies are okay because we ‘are broke.’

I have always considered the Tea Party to be a little suspicious. Maybe it’s because I am originally from England, and cannot get over the naughty colonies dumping our precious tea into the sea in 1773. But in all seriousness the Tea Party, as we know them today, sprang forth soon after Barack Obama took office, and suddenly started protesting our terrible tax burden and seemed to believe that they had something in common with the colonists of 1773.

There is a commonly held belief that we should be accepting of views from the left and the right wing, and assume that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. We live, after all, in a country that embraces the concept of free speech. Therefore even people in the KKK have a right to say their piece, no matter how abhorrent their viewpoint might be.

There are many people in this country who think that Michele Bachmann would make a good President, but it would seem that a majority of them are unfamiliar with some of the crazier things that she has said. Use this post to familiarize yourself with some of her most outrageous statements.

We’ve all heard the stereotype, the octomoms of this world, milking the system taking those welfare checks, taking our hard earned tax dollars and living the high life while we all have to work for a living. The reality, for most people on welfare, is that life is extremely hard. It means living in a poor neighborhood, going without, buying the cheap food with food stamps, boredom, discrimination, depression, and often poor health. It isn’t some free ride, it isn’t easy street, it just plain sucks.

Republicans are abusing their power again, this time to attempt to deprive young and/or student voters of their voting rights.

Republicans and their Tea Party friends tell us they want a small, cheap, efficient government, and low taxes. But their actions say otherwise.
