The behavior of the Republicans most recently around the debt ceiling debate, and just in general, reminds me vividly of the abusive personality that I engaged with daily, for years, until my divorce. No compromise was ever allowed, it was his way or his other way. He never talked about the many ways in which he was wrong, it was ‘look what you made me do.’
Thank you, Republicans, on so many levels: Thank you for spending so much time attacking each other, leaving President Obama free to raise big money and leisurely come up with strategies to counter your forthcoming attacks, which you telegraph daily.
Eric Cantor appeared as Leslie Stahl’s guest on 60 Minutes and did his best to whitewash, downplay, revise history, deny history, appear reasonable and ‘humanize’ his image . . . all in vain, I might add, for anyone who knows Cantor’s record and what appears to be his rabidly personal animosity toward the President.
Rick Santorum has revealed himself as either a delusional crazy person who has been on another planet for the past 3+ years, or as a liar the likes of which we haven’t seen since Sarah Palin.
17 days left to collect about 32,000 signatures for the Scott Walker recall – and activists in Wisconsin have already collected 507,000 signatures in less than a month. 28 days, to be exact. That’s over 18,000 signatures a day, roughly 750 signatures an hour, every hour. Hated much, Walker?
Many in this country, when we elected President Obama, thought we were electing a flaming liberal – and it’s my belief that his ideology is left-leaning. But there’s no trial ground for the presidency; there’s no try-out period; there’s no 90-day training program; there’s no gauging what will crop up today, tomorrow, or next year that may change the game. President Obama, in his three years as President, has seen it all.
2011 made me weary, and I’ll be honest: During the past few days, I wondered if I’d ever regain my spark, ever be able to find the energy to continue to try to slay the dragons that are roaring and breathing fire over us. It all seemed too much.
Wait, isn’t this show supposed to be ‘Follow the Money?’ Sounds more like it should be ‘Follow the Bullet Trajectory.’ Eric Bolling, Fox News’ newest Glenn-Beck-channeller, was all a flutter about the fact that ‘Mississippi, Wyoming and Indiana are among the states softening up on concealed carry permits for handguns. We, finally, maybe we have finally decided to embrace the Second Amendment.’
Oh, the screaming and crying and gnashing of teeth at the pricetag for the Obama’s approximately $4.1 million Hawaii vacation. You really gotta hand it to The Huffington Post, and its founder, politically schizophrenic Arianna Huffington who hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to be when she grows up.
But about the wars . . . I get crossways with my liberal friends because I won’t decry the wars. I won’t condemn them. I won’t condemn the fact that we’re there. I won’t condemn the President for the fact that he hasn’t ended both wars. I won’t condemn the President for being a “hawk.” I won’t condemn President Obama for taking out terrorists in his drone attacks.
Yesterday, I wrote an article about the ‘birther’ movement entitled, ‘Birthers: First annoying, then distracting, then alarming, now dangerous.’ A couple of things happened here: First, the birthers came out of the woodwork to comment and, if the comment thread on the article is any indication, they proved my point – and then some.
There’s a part of me that says, ignore the birthers. There’s a part of me that says, slap the birthers. There’s a part of me that says, imprison the birthers. The part of me that prevails is the part of me that says, like sexual offenders forced to register in a national sex offender registry, birthers should be highlighted front and center as a danger to society and a danger to President Obama.

As if Rick Santorum hasn’t done enough damage bashing gays, undocumented immigrants and those of us who, call us crazy, continue to act like Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land, he’s taking shots at both the poor and the obese now – a two’fer.
We loved the theoretical thought of your affair with Herman Cain, and we really enjoyed watching this pompous, arrogant, know-nothing squirm under the spotlight of public opinion after you entered the scene, but we really only liked it in theory. I, personally, don’t recall asking you for gory details.
I was on the Daily Rant’s website, and there, before me, was an article entitled, ‘Cute as a Chimpanzee,’ written by Massie on October 26, 2011.
I’ve been struck lately by how little daylight there is between the way Herman Cain handles controversy and the way Sarah Palin handles controversy. Neither have ever been wrong in their lives; neither can acknowledge personal foibles; neither can accept personal responsibility for anything that besets them; both can ‘wow ‘em’ at a tea party rally without saying a damn thing; and both are delusional enough to think that they’re qualified to be president.
From what I’ve learned, Cain did not help White get a job; from what I’ve learned, Cain did nothing to assist her with her financial difficulties (except play fast and loose with promises and lavish her with gifts); from what I’ve learned, she was kicked to the curb when Cain decided he had what it took to be president; and from what I’m seeing now, he doesn’t want to know from her, and is allowing his camp to continue to run a smear campaign on someone he viewed as a friend. The same financial issues Ms. White had that, according to Cain, drew him to her are now what he’s using to smear her. Some friend.
Another day, another Herman Cain sexual escapade – this time, as reported by Jueseppi B., with a woman who claims to have had a 13-year sexual relationship with him.
It’s ironic and faintly humorous that Michele Bachmann is so riled up about the song ‘Lyin’ Ass Bitch’ that was played by house band Roots to introduce her when she appeared on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.’
