Their theory goes, with a smaller government, less taxes will be needed to be collected. Since Americans have an aversion to taxes, the general public tend to go along with this theory.

Conservatives have taken to a new spin on truth, by refashioning definitions of words and terms in order to provoke new connotations. Socialism is now defined as a government take over, Capitalism is now defined as patriotic, and the wealthy are now defined as job creators. But simply redefining these words will not change their true meaning, it is only myth making.

When proven wrong through logic or reason, they alter their viewpoint. They are not righteous, but are open to civil discourse in their discussions.

Remember when Florida Governor Rick Scott instituted mandatory drug testing on welfare recipients? It was based upon the premise that it would save money by not having to pay benefits to those who were on drugs. Well, it turned out that 96% of welfare recipients are drug free.

Does the Christian Coalition Really Endorse Slavery?

American Way is moving their offices and are archiving all the random material they have collected over the years, one of the things they have found was a Christian Coalition leadership manual from 1990. This little gem either endorses slavery explicitly, or at least argues that work relationships should be modeled after those Bible verses that clearly endorse slavery.

Religious Republicans take center stage for the Presidential Primary, despite their great divide over Christian beliefs. While American conservatives call for even more deregulation, Pope Benedict XVI is calling for a more equitable, fair, and regulated economy, saying ‘[T]he economy cannot be measured only by maximization of profit but rather according to the common good.’

Palin Agrees With Perry on ‘Treasonous’ Fed

Governor Rick Perry of Texas was caught issuing an nondescript threat against Federal Chairman Ben Bernanke, implicating his actions to stimulate the economy are ‘treasonous.’ Perry stated, ‘If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y’all would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas.’ Former Governor Sarah Palin appeared in an interview with Lou Dobbs on Fox News and readily agreed with Perry.
