In the United States of America, we famously like to say we are the – Land Of The Free – But let’s take a realistic look to uncover the specifics of American freedom.

According to reports, Occupy Wall Street is marching to the homes of corporate wealth giants. Rupert Murdoch, CEO of NewsCorp and FOX news is on the list of homes the protesters plan to visit. Rupert Murdoch has openly admitted that he manipulates his news media to persuade public opinion as he sees fit.

Democratic leaders immediately voiced support and empathy for the protesters. So in order to not look like the bad guys, the Republicans decided that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to ridicule this growing “mob” because the vastly increasing number of protesters might not appreciate being called thugs. So the Republicans switched their song to – the protesters are angry with the Obama administration for creating class warfare.

The USA and a couple of advanced countries, chiefly the UK and Australia, have been experiencing an ongoing severe shortage of prescribed medications. Most of the drugs in short supply are injectable, such as cancer drugs or medications that are needed in the emergency room to save lives. Obviously this shortage is putting innocent lives at risk, in addition to forcing hospitals to buy medications from black market suppliers at additionally marked up prices.

As the Occupy Wall Street protest continues, police in lower Manhattan have begun arresting protesters. But protesters are not being arrested for disorderly conduct. They are being arrested for wearing Halloween masks.

Almost every Republican in Congress made a pledge to a powerful Washington lobbyist that they would never raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans. This was not a pledge to represent the American people or to protect America’s interests as a whole. It was a pledge to protect Wall Street instead of Main Street.

I firmly believe that Republicans who filibuster just about every step Democrats have tried to take, is the main stay of our current problem in the United States. How is Obama supposed to get anything done under such circumstances?
