From the Republican Hypocrisy Alert Files: President Obama should not be taking a vacation while America is facing a crisis.

The Atlantic’s Josh Green reported on how then-Governor Palin boosted Alaska’s bond rating to AAA for the first time by raising taxes on oil companies.

It is clear what some of our previous Presidents believed as they began, built, and continued to facilitate the American Dream… that the people of this great nation come first.

People are entitled to their own opinions, but that’s what they are; opinions. Let’s try to remember that not all opinions are facts, only facts are facts.

Rick Perry, is inching closer to officially destroying an already destroyed country. Sadly, you may recall a certain other frat boy moron and Texas governor getting the word from God to run for President.

Republicans are furious over alleged remarks made by Vice-President Joe Biden when he stated that Tea Party ‘have acted like terrorists’, referring to the fact that the Tea Party held America hostage over the debt ceiling debate.

If you’ve been tuning in to C-Span this week and watching members of congress speak on the debt ceiling, you’ve probably noticed a pattern amongst the Republicans. They say things like ‘American families tighten their belts, why can’t the U.S government?’. This is quite an intruiging question, considering Republicans are the ones who really need to do the belt tightening.

It is easy to get people to fear all social programs when they are not educated in the difference between the Soviets and Social Security

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971…before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land…all because of public pressure.
I’m asking each addressee to forward this page to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn I ask each of those to do likewise.

Never before in American history have we seen a pair of people more determined to take America backwards. Never before have we seen two people more determined to buy elections and seize control of government in an effort to control United States policy and turn the country into a corporate state. The Koch family has been trying to do this since the 1950′s and their secret plans are on the verge of being realized.

In political terms, Bill Clinton’s still a reasonably young man. As head of the Clinton Global Initiative, he’s frequently seen at high-powered and high-profiled events around the world and in the United States. I can’t remember another President who’s been interviewed as much and as often, post-Administration, by everyone from David Gregory on Meet the Press to David Letterman, right down to Jon Stewart. In fact, Bill Maher is messing his knickers at the prospect of getting Clinton on his program for an interview.

When Americans blamed Republicans for the government shut down in 1995, one would think the GOP learned their lesson. But the eternally short memories of Republicans and their apparent failure to remember historical facts once again compels them to try something that failed. What is it about the GOP that makes them believe that they can hold America hostage?

130 Republicans who are in congress today voted to hike the debt ceiling under Bush, without hostage threats.

Rupert Murdoch and his band of misguided cohorts and minions have done irreparable damage to the institute of Journalism. These unforgivable people have systematically stripped the Journalistic process to the core, to its bare bones. I do think this scandal being broken is a good thing. News Corp has used it’s power and influence to strangle smaller news media and other enterprises around the world to the point of no return, causing dozens of them to close down or be gobbled up by the giant itself. The world has suffered mightily at the hands of News Corp.

How patriotic is it for Republicans to turn on an American President, and instead show their support for the leader of a foreign nation? That’s exactly what the Republicans have done, so how can they truly care about their country when their loyalty is to a foreign nation’s leader?

To say that race matters, regarding matters to the Right of the political spectrum, is an understatement. Who doesn’t remember many of the people showing up for Sarah Palin’s campaign rallies in 2008, with their stuffed monkeys called ‘Little Hussein,’ the elderly woman challenging McCain with her misguided fact that Candidate Obama was an Arab, the shouts and jeers, even to one man shrieking out that Obama must be killed during a Palin pow-wow.

There is an argument being pressed by a substantial portion of the population that we need to go back. To return to the good ol’ days. That we’ve gone to far and are in need of a reversal of course. That we do not need progress.

Evangelicals are the most conservative group in America and are the founding backbone of the Tea Party. However, evangelicals have still impacted liberal policies and some have been supporters of leftist movements. How could this be?

The reality is that the Republican Party that was lead by President Ford and amplified the voice of advocacy by First Lady Betty Ford is essentially no more when compared to the shell of itself that’s represented today.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of President Reagan’s birth this year, lets take a look at the effect of his tax cuts for the top marginal rate. When we looked at the course of the past 80 years as a set, it looks as if there isn’t a particularly clear correlation between top marginal tax rates and GDP growth.
