You hear a lot of talk in Republican circles about ‘Personal Responsibility.’ It sounds great, doesn’t it? Americans are a rugged bunch. We like to do things ourselves.

One in seven households in the U.S. are ‘food insecure,’ meaning that getting enough to eat is a daily struggle.

So, in the face of the Occupy Wall Street protests – which is basically, like the tea party claimed to be, simply fed up with the status quo – one would think that the right-wing media would herald its arrival, just like it did the Tea Party in 2008.

Occupy Tucson began their campaign at Armory Park today, October 15th, after two weeks of planning and meetings of various working groups such as the legal, PR and outreach, peace keeping, and art groups. About 1000 people over the day attended and about 350 marched orderly through downtown.

During a very recent interview with Piers Morgan, CNN, Sean Penn spoke frankly about his thoughts on the political climate for President Obama.

Leaving aside the fact that, yes, the tax code desperately needs some kind of reform, a closer look at Cain’s ‘simplistic’ proposal not only reveals a staggering lack of real tax code knowledge, if passed, it would end up being the greatest tax increase for middle and lower income earners since the federal income tax was introduced, while simultaneously ushering in the single greatest tax break for millionaires and corporations.

True change has never happened by the single actions of government or political leaders but by the united actions of the American people.

I find the recent flaps about class warfare typically convenient. Warfare in this context is nothing more that Right-Wing word-smithing for effect.

Below are two ‘fine’ examples of idiocy. So deserving of the spotlight of shame, they could easily share first prize. But, alas, someone had to edge out in front, if only by a nose, which, after reading this, you will have to hold for quite some time.

I look back on all the times, all the marches, all of the wonderful people I met along the way and the only thing that comes to mind is hope. The people of Wisconsin have already shown how it’s done back in February and March, but as I talked with people who were in it for the long haul and others who were bouncing from occupation to occupation, I realized one thing. Ten things that Herman Cain, political genius, should know the GOP is doing that doesn’t create a single job.

When you arrive, check your pre-conceived talking points at the curb, but do engage in respectful discourse. Observe and participate in a general assembly. Do not judge by their attire but what they vocalize. There are conservative voices amongst the crowd and they are welcomed as long as mutual respect is shown.
That seems pretty clear-cut to me; pretty transparent. It seems amazingly obvious that there is a clear secularity in American government, and that the separation of church and state should be just as guaranteed as our right to free speech.

Eric Cantor is just one member of Congress, but his influential position puts him smack in the middle of the Democrats’ radar. It’s imperative that Cantor’s challenger be smart, progressive, appealing to the populous and most importantly, electable. AddictingInfo feels that Virginia has found such a candidate in Vietnam War hero, Lt Colonel David Hunsicker.

If Herman Cain’s 999 plan…or as Bachmann put it the ‘Devil is in the details’ 666 plan, comes to fruition, the poor will surely die in great numbers, while the rich in this country will see their tax rates plummet by some 17%.

Who are the real heretics in this country? The people challenging corporate power and greed or the people who have made Wall Street their god?
