It would all just be good theater to the casual observer, if it weren’t for the involvement of ‘conservative Catholic think-tanks’, and Washington insiders. Plus the fact that the church led outcry over the provision, shifted the responsibility from employers to insurance companies. They won that battle, a political victory.

The Girl Scouts of America are shaping up to be this election cycle’s ACORN. A mostly benign organization that positively impacts a group that lacks a strong voice in our society. A 100 year old entity known mostly for selling cookies and singing songs. They are also low-hanging fruit.

This week’s face-palm moment was undoubtedly Rep. Bob Morris’ (R-Indiana) incendiary letter to the House of Representatives urging his fellow Congressmen and Congresswomen to vote down a resolution to celebrate the Girl Scouts’ 100 year anniversary.

With the US economy showing improvement, it can only mean that Republicans need to ratchet up the crazy talk on abortion and contraception.

A young Girl Scout openly advocates for discrimination against transgender children. Either she’s a sad example of religious programming or she’s auditioning for her future career as a Fox News anchor.

In 2010, The Blaze reports that the Girl Scouts put out a book called, ‘MEdia,’ which is intended to help girls intelligently process information (a skill sorely lacking, in my opinion). At question is page 25 of the book. Under a section entitled, ‘Consider the Source,’ it says ‘The fact-checking site snopes.com investigates everything from urban legends to ‘news’ articles and posts its findings. Media Matters for America (http://mediamatters.org/) gets the word out about media misinformation.’
