Who could have ever predicted that Newt Gingrich would be leading the GOP Presidential field after his campaign was declared dead only a few months earlier? Well, since Gingrich leads the field, conservatives must really be desperate to elect anyone but Romney. But is Newt a winner?

So you know how the right-wing has been trying to control if not totally abolish free speech when it runs counter to their corporate agenda? Well, if today’s eviction of the protestors in Zuccoti Park serves as any indication of the plutocrats shaking in their $2000 eagle-feathered boots, then ejecting a woman for wearing a t-shirt you don’t like is a confirmation of that fact.

The latest target of the recent string of mic checks was none other than Scott Serota, the President and CEO of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), during a Chamber of Commerce event.

Michele Bachmann is still alive and apparently running for president, which means she’s obliged to say insane things. Whether she’s touting the benefits of waterboarding (listening to Bachmann speak apparently violates the Geneva Conventions as well) or pulling a Palin and lashing out at…
During a Veterans Day campaign event in South Carolina on Friday, Mitt Romney indicated that he would privatize veterans care currently operated and paid for by the federal government and put a voucher system in its place.

It’s safe to assume we’re all well aware of Mitt Romney’s previous support for abortion rights, particularly during his 1994 Senate run against the late Ted Kennedy. But what many of us might not know is that Romney’s support for abortion rights went well beyond his failed Senate bid.

So, this is just a small peek into the Republican Party of Death…Beware…
Throughout the GOP primary season, the Republican presidential candidates have broken Ronald Reagan’s commandment of not speaking ill of a fellow Republican on multiple occasions. During a speech in Washington in front of an audience at the Family Research Council, Michele Bachmann broke the rule again.

Given Cain’s dismal knowledge base on everything from neo-conservatism to whether China has nuclear weapons, it shouldn’t be a surprise that in the C-Span ‘Lincoln-Douglas’ debate with Newt Gingrich, hosted by the Texas Patriots PAC, he flubbed, again.
Mitt Romney Vows To Privatize Medicare, Raise The Retirement Age, And Fire Thousands Of Government Workers
Romney laid out his vision of government which includes privatizing Medicare, raising the retirement age, wiping out government agencies and jobs, making balanced budgets mandatory via constitutional amendment, and slashing funding for the arts, public broadcasting, family planning and passenger rail services. He also wants to give states more budget power.
When he campaigned for the Governorship of Massachusetts and to be a senator, Romney consistently tried to portray himself as more liberal than his opponents. Now, as he runs for President, Romney is trying to portray himself as more conservative.

I now realize that it is the most powerless, the most voiceless of our population who have the biggest stake in this movement. They are the ones who’ve lost the most; their homes, livelihoods and their families. And they must battle daily to maintain their self respect. It is only fitting and extremely satisfying that they are the ones who have stepped forward and are assuming these roles in our own little corner of the occupy movement.
Anti-Gay Right-Wing Activist Linda Harvey Warns Parents Not To Let Gay Doctors And Nurses Treat Their Children
Harvey warned heterosexual parents not to allow gay doctors and nurses treat their children unless it was an emergency. She argued that letting them do so would allow the gay community to somehow influence their sexuality and views about homosexual people.
The right-wing claims to have some sort of monopoly on Christianity and they claim that liberals are godless heathens who have no values. Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The left-wing has Christians too, and they are collectively known as The Christian Left.

To tell them their ‘bad choices’ of losing their jobs and being old during a recession was their fault, and they needed to stop whining about it. It angers me when I talk to the ‘I’ve got mine, who cares about yours’ type of people in this country. Is that how your momma raised you?
The Republican ‘jobs’ plan is nothing more than a rehash of the same disastrous policies that crashed the economy in the first place. It’s a corporate giveaway that will hurt the American people even more.
On Thursday, House Republicans released a budget that targets virtually everybody except the wealthy and corporations. The draft budget proposal slashes funding for labor, health and human services, education, and services for the poor, unemployed, and elderly. This sets the stage for a battle between Democrats, Republicans, and the White House that could result in a shut down of the federal government.

The USA and a couple of advanced countries, chiefly the UK and Australia, have been experiencing an ongoing severe shortage of prescribed medications. Most of the drugs in short supply are injectable, such as cancer drugs or medications that are needed in the emergency room to save lives. Obviously this shortage is putting innocent lives at risk, in addition to forcing hospitals to buy medications from black market suppliers at additionally marked up prices.

This isn’t really a commentary on the death penalty – although, that being said, my views on the death penalty have been, at various times, various things. I’ve been for it, I’ve been against it, I’ve been neutral. A particularly…
Newt Gingrich is another Republican who revels in bashing the poor. Gingrich told Wolf Blitzer on CNN that the uninsured should receive health care from charitable organizations and not government.
