There can be no sugar coating the fact that last Tuesday’s recall elections in Wisconsin were a tough loss and massive disappointment. But the results in Wisconsin have also galvanized some lessons that it is important for Democrats and progressives to take to heart so that future political fights can turn out more favorably.

‘I’d rather you hug me,’…Nope!

After a contentious race that followed a heated recall, Scott Walker has been projected to win the governorship of Wisconsin for a second time, defeating Tom Barrett and smothering the final gasps of a Big Labor comeback.

Tuesday, June 5 is the day that Wisconsin voters have the opportunity to restore the state’s tradition of honest, progressive government.

For this weekend’s reading list, we are focused on the June 5 Wisconsin recall election.

The good news is that despite the meddling of out-of-state billionaires and millionaires, this election is winnable for Barrett. It is up to progressives to put him over the top by getting involved.

It seems that the DNC ought to step up and start funding Barret’s team. In fact it has been reported that Wisconsin’s Democratic Party has asked the DNC for $500,000 to help with its massive field operation.
