Hypocrisy Alert: Michele Bachmann is a Welfare Queen

Author: 11:26 am

Occasional human being, and Republican presidential candidate, Michele Bachmann perpetually touts the sorely misguided notion that all federal monies are allotted to freeloading bums who lack the Protestant work ethic–and light pigmentation–that comes with it. Yet, much like with everything with today’s pretend Republican Senators or Congresspeople, it ultimately boils down to “do as I poorly say, not as I do.” Much like her idiot sister from another mother in Alaska, Bat Sh*t Bachmann is a leading recipient of dirty taxpayer money. Most recently, the Washington Post uncovered a $417,000 federally-subsidized loan from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to help purchase a luxury house even as she was shrieking for the Mortgage giants to be dismantled. Of course Bachmann has been a consistently fierce critic of mortgage lending programs and has gone so far as to suggest abolishing the government sponsored mortgage enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But that certainly didn’t stop the female overlord of Kookistan from taking out the maximum possible loan from those programs to finance her family’s move to a lavish 5,200-square-foot home on a golf course. After all, one simply cannot read the bible without encountering all the passages about Jesus being an avid golfer. Naturally, Bachmann gave an explanation worthy of late-nite fodder (sorry Obama stimulus jokes) during an appearance this afternoon at the National Press Club.

MODERATOR: I got a lot of questions from people asking is it fair for you to call for dismantling federal programs you ultimately have been a beneficiary of? So in terms of guaranteeing home mortgages, do you think the federal government has a role in that…? BACHMANN: Now unlike all of you, who I’m sure pay cash for your homes, there are people out there like myself who actually have to go to a bank and get a mortgage. And this is the problem. It’s almost impossible to buy a home in this country today without the federal government being involved. Whether it is with the FHA, whether it’s with Fannie, whether it’s with Freddie, it’s almost impossible to buy a home…What’s important is that we do dismantle a number of these federal programs that everyone agrees are clearly out of control.

Very indeed so, Bachmann. All us Americans (especially those greedy Kindergarten teachers) do is use cash to purchase gold plated homes and spend our remaining days burning hundred-dollar bills in the roaring fireplace. Now if you’re not a Teabagger, thus having more than two brain cells, who can forget how Bachmann received thousands of dollars in farm subsidies and $137,000 in Medicaid paymentsto deeply closeted Marcus Bachmann’s gay therapy clinic? And now the home loan?! One might even go so far as to say that Bachmann belongs to the church of Trinity Hypocrisy. The insane clown posse that makes up today’s Republican Party most certainly opposes large government, but only when it comes to groups they simply don’t like, such as blacks, gays, women, working class, etc. Edited By: Alexis Atherton

  • Just how does she get so much hot air in such a tiny narrow mind?

  • Didn’t you know? It’s tote’s okay to take other people’s money if your a white conservative woman.

  • The difference between Bachmann and her ilk and the rest of the country is that we aren’t trying to buy LUXURY homes on golf courses. We, for the most part, are buying modest homes now that we can afford. She claims to be a true American but 90% of us couldn’t afford a home that size for two people. I guess she will be providing a job to an illegal immigrant though. Someone has to clean the place unless Marcus is donning his french maid outfit and running around with a feather duster.

  • Given her recent disdain for credit, perhaps she should have considered not getting any since she didn’t have the cash to buy a home outright. There are these things called apartments that you can rent…

I do find it curious too, her take on ‘home’. Where she gets all this glorious PR for her large adoptive family, when her home in MN was legally classified as a treatment center and, rather than taking those children in on her Christian charity, she received state (and likely federal) payment for doing so. Isn’t that the same sort of abuse of the system certain classes of people blame urban unwed mothers for doing; using babies as means to generate support and income?

Shame on her especially considering she worked for the IRS and, likely, the house used shelter of a nonprofit corporation to be classified as such. Way to abuse, or actually confuse, the spirit of the nonprofit umbrella Michelle. Major hypocrite points there.

  • Welfare- and she’s not a democrat?

    • Just like the many morons in the South that vote Republican.

      • @ Katie
Hard to believe they so repeatedly vote against their own best interests. Back in the 50′s-60′s the bible belt voted mainly democrat. But since the enactment of civil rights, and throwing abortion into the mix, they mostly went republican.

  • Fannie Mae loans are not the same as welfare. Bachman is paying her loan back unlike many. Why do you guys have to resort to name-calling and slang words? That’s because you have no valid argument. I’m not supporting any candidate at this point but I’m certainly will only look at facts.

    • MM, please contact Ms. Bachmann and have her look at American History–she tends to get her “facts” confused!

      • MM, you are deflecting away from the point as you people so often do. You can’t call for dismantling a program that benefits yourself without being a hypocrite. You have no valid argument in your mindless defense of a mindless moron. Subsidies for adopted children IS welfare as well as farm subsidies and she took it. There are also clear abuses of their tax exempt status as a non-profit. Swing and a miss MM.

  • Did you bother to check far enough to see where the loan for her house originated? Probably not. Freddie and Fannie constantly buy mortgages on the secondary market, just as Hibernia may buy a block of mortgages from Countrywide, banks, etc. Our current mortgage has been sold three times. So, an individual can buy a home and obtain a loan from XYZ Mortgage company and at any time during the life of the line have it sold to ABC Mortgage Company – OR – it could be sold to Fannie or Freddie. DUH! I obviously don’t know where the loan originated, but if you were to dig deeper and find that Ms. Bachmann originated the loan with a mortgage company that later sold her loan to Fannie or Freddie, are you a big enough person to render her an apology. Hmmm – based on the fact you’d write this piece of tripe without investigating, I’d say not.
