Rick Santorum Says Children With A Gay Father Would Be Better Off With A Father In Prison

Rick Santorum continued his crusade against the LGBT community in New Hampshire on Saturday, this time at a college preparatory school in Dublin.

During his appearance, students asked Santorum about his position on same-sex marriage and proceeded to suggest that children would be better off with their dad being in prison than they would with a gay dad.

“You’re robbing children of something that they need, they deserve, they have a right to. They have a right to be known and be loved by their dad or their mom. Marriage is not a right. It’s a privilege that is given to society by society for a reason … We want to encourage what is the best for children. Even fathers in jail who had abandoned their kids were still better than no father at all to have in their children’s lives.”

Basically, Santorum is saying that kids are better off without a dad than they would be if their dad is gay. Does Santorum have any idea how many orphans out there would be overjoyed to be adopted by gay parents? His bigotry is robbing these children of a loving home with parents who can care for them. Perhaps we ought to test Santorum’s theory. He should voluntarily place himself in prison to prove how much better off his kids would be. Just don’t drop the soap, Rick. You might enjoy the result.

Only 2.8% of adolescents raised by gays consider themselves gay, a rate roughly comparable to the rate among adolescents raised by straights. Science says gayness is not catching!

ALSO: the rate of child abuse in lesbian households is close to zero.

Remember a very important point when listening to Frothy Mix. He follows not Jesus’s words, but rather Paul’s words. The Catholic Church is NOT based on much of what Jesus said or did but rather the edicts, epistles and other writings of Paul. The two are rarely in agreement.

His opinions are important, if he’s running for f-ing president. So don’t belittle the issue via reductio ad absurdum, saying ” he’s just stating his opinion its not reality.” Yes obviously his opinion doesn’t deprive anyone of a good home; until he gets elected.

I completely agree with you “Lol”. Quit forcing your opinions on people … free speech? Ever heard of that? Broaden your mind a little and you’ll see he has a point. I have seen no convincing argument that homosexuality is right … but that’s just me.

    • Ivy on January 8, 2012 at 8:06 PM

The concept of the whole “freedom of speech” thing that everyone seems to pull out to justify their hate is lost on you, apparently. If you have the right to spew your (hateful) opinion all over the internet, then everyone else has the right to tell you why they disagree. Nice try, though.

“I have seen no convincing argument that homosexuality is right… but that’s just me.” Are you serious? What kind of statement is that?

  7. chloe on January 8, 2012 at 9:39 AM

Why not? A Christian is someone who believes in Christ and the Bible; God’s word. And since homosexuality is clearly stated a sin…

    • appalled on January 8, 2012 at 9:24 PM

      Or so you’ve been TOLD…

    • Debi on January 9, 2012 at 7:50 AM

Chloe: A Christian is someone with Christ in their heart. With as much hate towards LGBTs and Democrats, (just to name a few) how can he have ROOM in his heart to let Christ stay? Didn’t Jesus also say “Another commandment I give unto you that you should love one another as I have loved you”? Can you REALLY convince me that when God and Jesus said that we should not judge because it’s THEIR job to judge that God and Jesus were wrong and WE should be the judges for these people?

    • Jim Brunner on January 9, 2012 at 8:45 PM

Chloe, I assume you wouldn’t mind telling us WHERE Christ says homosexuality is a sin…..

I’m beginning to think Santorum may have graduated from Michele Bachmann’s husband’s gay conversion program. His rants are sounding more and more like denial.

  9. LOL on January 7, 2012 at 9:22 PM

You libtards are so funny to watch as you flail around reaching for logic. So let’s get this right; Rick states an opinion and suddenly kids are deprived of a good home? lol. You’re all too much but go ahead and continue your inane diatribes while the rest of us laugh at you.

    • Trip Affleck on January 8, 2012 at 7:51 AM

look, you stump, it’s not his ‘opinion’, he’s stating his position as factual; he intends to pass laws based on these ‘opinions’. no one is ‘flailing around’ reaching for logic; we are simnply dumbfounded at the heights that these utter morons are going to, to pander to ignorant bigots like you. and i’m not sure who you think is laughing at whom, but so far, your boy has been shut out by the voters, so enjoy backing the losing horse, dumbass.

      • Boner on January 9, 2012 at 10:01 AM

you are “simnply dumbfounded”? I think you are the utter moron, sir.

    • lulz on January 8, 2012 at 10:21 AM

I’d rather be a “libtard,” than some hate-spewing, ignorant, right-wing f**ktard that likes to attack by name calling. Stick that in your hat and smoke it, dickweed.

      • Billy on January 9, 2012 at 9:56 AM

you dont like to attack by name calling…….?

    • Mary Beth Gapinski on January 8, 2012 at 10:52 AM

Go ahead and laugh at us while all the time we’re laughing at conservatives like you using words like “logic”. There’s nobody vying as a Republican presidential candidate that uses logic, least of all Santorum.

    • Jim Brunner on January 8, 2012 at 12:04 PM

Thank God “the rest of us” is such a small number. JUSTICE IS COMING.

    • Anonymous on January 9, 2012 at 12:18 AM

Actually, you’re the one who is inane because only inane people would stick up for that bigot! I’m sure that you must’be been born into such an ignorant redneck family who did not care enough to teach you any manners growing up. If I were you, I would NEVER sit in front of the computer all day and just try to hurt someone, let alone for exposing Santorum’s hateful behavior. Grow up, get a life, stop watching Faux News, get a job and (most importantly) try not to hurt anyone who doesn’t agree with you while living your angry, sad, useless, pathetic, hateful, bigoted, ignorant, homophobic, hate-filled and (yes, I’m sure) unproductive life!

    • Scott on January 9, 2012 at 8:51 AM

That’s quite amusing. The clown car show called the Republican candidates are all reality-challenged individuals. In fact, the only sane one – Huntsman – is being ignored and will be dropping out shortly. THAT is GOP logic.

  10. dave farley on January 7, 2012 at 7:34 PM

Politicians like Santorum and Bachman are destroying America, and their hate and ignorance is as Unamerican as you can get. Hearing their lies and smears and bigotry makes me want to vomit. Anyone stupid enough to support them, I feel terribly sorry for. One thing, I can’t call them is Christians.

    • Debi on January 9, 2012 at 7:53 AM

With as much hate in their hearts, there can’t be room for Jesus in their hearts so they can’t actually be Christians no matter what they call themselves.
