Florida Pastor Seriously Injures Church Worker In Shootout With 20 Children Inside (VIDEO)

On Tuesday, the community of Living Water Fellowship Church in Florida was shaken when a shootout took place with approximately 20 children inside the building.

The gunfire exchange took place between Pastor Terry Howell and church maintenance worker Benjamin Parangan, Jr. during a meeting about Parangan’s employment. Howell had been speaking about firing 47-year-old Parangan, and that’s when the offended worker pulled out a gun and took several shots at the Pastor. Howell wasn’t hit, but he pulled out his own gun and shot Parangan. Parangan was seriously injured, and rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center for treatment.

This incident was especially frightening because there were children on church property when the shooting took place. Fortunately, the children were in a separate area and unharmed. Twis Lizauain from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said:

There is a child care facility on the property at the church. It was not affected in any way by this isolated incident. We have contacted those parents and the majority of them have come to pick up their children.

The religious community was left in a state of shock. Robert Quintana, a member of the church, said:

It could happen anywhere though, (in) the times we live in. Really unfortunate.

Several church employees were able to give witness statements and all matched up with each other. Detectives are still investigating, but for now Howell’s involvement is considered self-defense. Criminal charges are pending for Parangan.
