Fox News Medical Expert Epically Lashes Out At Anti-Vaxxers For Causing Outbreaks Of Previously Eradicated Diseases (VIDEO)

Now this is a Fox News expert we can all get behind.

On Thursday morning, Fox & Friends brought aboard their medical expert, NYU Langone Medical Center associate professor of medicine Marc Siegel, to discuss the recent outbreak of measles in California that began when an un-vaccinated woman visited Disneyland. So far, health professionals are dealing with 70 cases of the potentially fatal and extremely contagious virus that is now running rampant in one of the wealthiest areas of the state.

In response to the outbreaks, Siegel wasted no time during his appearance on the network, delivering an epic smack down of anti-vaccination advocates, who have become a major threat to the American public. Siegel pointed out that measles had been eradicated in this country for years until anti-vaxxers helped bring it back by refusing to vaccinate their children. Then he noted that measles is even more contagious than the Ebola virus.

“Let me be clear on this, I see no debate whatsoever. Period. This is the greatest vaccine that has ever been created in the history of vaccines. You know we stamped out measles in the United States in 2000. It was incredible because measles is the most contagious virus known to man. If you had measles there would be a 90 percent chance that I would get it by sitting next to you if I weren’t vaccinated. It’s so much more contagious than the flu. We were talking about Ebola, this is a million times more contagious than Ebola!”

It should also be pointed out that the measles virus is also deadlier than Ebola, and remains the eighth leading cause of death worldwide.

In addition, Siegel also blasted celebrities like Jenny McCarthy for spearheading the anti-vaccination movement, even though she is NOT a medically trained physician.

“Your celebrities did not go to medical school! In California, there’s 13,000 parents that are taking a personal belief exemption, allowing their kids to go to school without that second MMR vaccine. You need one after you’re 1 year old, and then you need one again before you’re 5 or 6 years old. I think these parents are putting children at risk in schools. I think schools should consider not allowing these kids in. Make them be homeschooled if they don’t have this vaccine. Why should my child be a risk because your child isn’t vaccinated?”

Siegel also made the measles outbreak even more terrifying by informing Elisabeth Hasselback and the viewing audience that adults who have been vaccinated are at risk because the measles vaccination does wear off over time.

“Ten percent of adults that were vaccinated, who thought they got lifelong immunity are finding they’re not immune. I can check them with a simple blood test because the vaccine can wear off. I give boosters to people who are traveling to endemic areas. I would consider giving a booster to people traveling to Disneyland if I found they didn’t have immunity.”

Siegel then suggested people consult their doctors about their level of immunity to measles before they travel to areas in America where outbreaks exist and slammed anti-vaxxers for being irresponsible.

Indeed, the people driving the anti-science and anti-vaccination movement that is threatening the public health should be considered domestic biological terrorists. An un-vaccinated person is like a time bomb waiting to explode. And when a bomb explodes, people get hurt or killed. We as a nation are now dealing with the severe consequences of the anti-vaxxers and their stupidity. And it’s a health threat that we can no longer ignore. It’s time to require vaccinations by law and ban exemptions. Because if our government doesn’t do that, this country will have to continue dealing with diseases that were once wiped out within our shores and the death toll that will inevitably result.
