GOPer Who Thinks Gays Molest Kids Praised ‘New Friend’ — A Convicted Child Molester (VIDEO)

Colorado State Representative Gordon Klingenschmitt, a man who once attempted a long-distance exorcism of President Obama’s black and evil soul, has a “new friend” — one who happens to be an American child molestor. While Klingenschmitt spends a considerable amount of time furthering the asinine and hateful right-wing assertions that gay people are all child molesters who should be “drowned,” he sure had no problem embracing a man whose hobbies include having sex with children, when it suited his purpose.

In July, on Klingenschmitt’s Pray In Jesus’ Name show,  where we have learned that granting equal marriage rights to the LGBT community will bring the “criminalization of Christianity,”  that gay Boy Scouts’ leaders are “untrustworthy men who have a fetish for young boys,”  and that gay men wear diapers because all the homosex tears up their insidey parts, we were treated to a Klingenschmitt-branded dose of hypocrisy.

David Dorty, a conservative political activist with the American Conservatives of Color was supposed to be Klingenschmitt’s token black friend. Unfortunately for the bigoted, demon-believing legislator, the man Klingenschmitt called his “new friend” also enjoys doing exactly what Klingenschmitt accuses all gay people, any time, anywhere, of doing: imposing himself sexually on children.

Dorty has been convicted — twice — of sexually assaulting a child, once by a person in a position of trust, The Gazette reports.

To be fair, Klingenschmitt claims that he “didn’t know” Dorty, who Rocky Mountain Black Conservatives describes as a “dedicated prayer warrior,”  had prior convictions — which apparently means he is unable to use Google, as numerous search results mention the child toucher’s crimes.

The Gazette reported in March:

Dorty pleaded guilty in 1986 to sexual assault on a child and again in 1995 to sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. Both cases were in Larimer County.

“I’m very straightforward about my past,” Dorty said Tuesday in an interview with The Gazette. “I let people know what my conviction was and let them make a decision from there.”

Dorty’s involvement in politics has created ripples before.

In 2012 he spoke at the Republican county assembly in support of El Paso County commissioner candidate Karen Magistrelli. The event was held at Liberty High School.

“I obviously, for security reasons and public relations reasons, had a big problem with it when he came to a school with the 2012 campaign,” said Eli Bremer, who chaired the El Paso County Republican Party at the time. “I believe that people can change, but there are certain lines in terms of your public relations that you just shouldn’t cross.”

Yes, though Dorty has long been causing a stir with his need to inject himself into both children and conservative political events that happen to be near children, Klingenschmitt claims:

“Last month we met Mr. Dorty for the first time at the Western Conservative Summit and interviewed him on our show, but of course he did not tell us about his past.”

Dorty and his conservative supporters claim that all his past crimes have been invalidated and forgiven by the all-absolving power of Jesus’ love, or something.

While he has no issues palling around with a well-known child molester, Klingenschmitt prefers to focus on the “REAL” problem — the gays, who he says are invading Boy Scouts in order to find children to molest. Last week, Klingenschmitt drew criticism for saying that troop leaders would be helping boys earn their Penetration merit badges on camping trips.

“If your boy is in one of those organizations, you need to get the out of there,” Klingenschmitt warned his overly-excitable and paranoid audience, “because what they’re going to do is promote homosexual men to mentoring and camping with your boys in the woods and it will lead to child abuse.”

“It’s not about the sexual pleasure of adults,” Klingenschmitt said. “It should be about protecting innocent children. Because the Bible says this in Matthew Chapter 18: ‘Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.'”

Klingenschmitt prayed that God will “rescue the Boy Scouts organization from this political correctness that has openly forced men who are guilty of all kinds, who are openly admitting that they are engaged in all kinds of sodomy.”

Though he quoted the Bible to get his message across that gay people should be drowned, Klingenschmitt demanded apologies and retractions from those who pointed out that he said gay people should die a horrific death:

“I respectfully demand an immediate retraction from Rick Palacio and the Democrat Party of Colorado, for defaming me with false allegations that I called for gay leaders to be ‘drowned,'” Klingenschmitt wrote in an email to the head of the Colorado Democratic Party, who accurately quoted and paraphrased Klingenschmitt. “I have never called for violence against any person, and I resent his false statements claiming that I did, in his deceptive email to thousands of his easily misled Democrat followers who now believe his lies without checking the facts.  It’s sad when Democrat leaders deceive their people to win elections. As a Chaplain I may quote the Bible too boldly, but at least I speak the truth.”

Klingenschmitt’s own party condemned his remarks about gay boy scout leaders, as well. “Rep. Klingenschmitt’s inflammatory rhetoric was once again hurtful and does not represent the views of our caucus,” Assistant Minority Leader Polly Lawrence  said of her fellow state Representative’s words.

It is unknown what, if any, political backlash Klingenschmitt will face, as he has not been truly punished for his horrific statements in the past. While the anti-gay state legislator was removed from a committee assignment for claims that a brutal attack against a pregnant woman, in which the attacker cut the baby from the mother-to-be’s womb, was a “curse of God” upon a nation that doesn’t protect the unborn, he was later reinstated to his position.

Though he demanded apologies, Klingenschmitt says he will absolutely not retract his awful and false statements about gay men. By his logic, at this point, it’s more reasonable to assume that all conservatives are pedophiles, because of verifiable incidents like this  and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this.
