Another GOP Congressman Just Admitted The Truth About The Benghazi Committee (AUDIO)

Yet another Republican congressman has just admitted what the House Select Committee on Benghazi is all about: stopping Hillary Clinton from being elected the 45th President of the United States.

Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) appeared on the Keeler in the Morning radio show and told the host, “I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton.”

Hanna’s comments back up the rhetoric of Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who admitted to Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the committee was created to drive Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers down. As a result of that admission, McCarthy decided to pull out of the internal election to succeed Speaker John Boehner, and became the star of the first national campaign ad from Clinton.

The Republican campaign to use Clinton’s emails as a smear tactic unexpectedly became the star of Tuesday night’s Democratic debate, with Senator Bernie Sanders telling Republicans to give up their obsession with the “damn emails.” It prompted a loud round of applause and allowed a moment of unity between the two campaigns and was easily the highlight of the evening.

Clinton addressed the committee in the debate as well:

CLINTON: Well, I’ve taken responsibility for it. I did say it was a mistake. What I did was allowed by the State Department, but it wasn’t the best choice.

And I have been as transparent as I know to be, turning over 55,000 pages of my e-mails, asking that they be made public. And you’re right. I am going to be testifying. I’ve been asking to testify for some time and to do it in public, which was not originally agreed to.

But let’s just take a minute here and point out that this committee is basically an arm of the Republican National Committee.

(APPLAUSE)

It is a partisan vehicle, as admitted by the House Republican majority leader, Mr. McCarthy, to drive down my poll numbers. Big surprise. And that’s what they have attempted to do.
